Don’t know Stewarts game but I see he is a 6’8” center, 250lbs.
10lbs more than Mitch (was) so I guess he can body big guys like Mitch does?
Mitch much lighter now, so I wonder how that will affect his physical game.
If you move Dadiet, then I’d try hard for Kessler. You can get a first for Dadiet but not sitting on the bench.
He actually looked quite good when he got time. Played under control and within the system… those Euro’s.
You’re not getting a 1st for Dadiet. Call a spade a spade, Dadiet was only a 1st rd pick because he was willing to sign a below slot contact and the Knicks couldn’t dump the pick for a package of 2nds.
In general, once a player is drafted he’s worth less than his draft slot unless his on court performance says otherwise.
I liked what I saw out of Pacome in preseason. He has good size to play both forward spots, solid athleticism and his defense was better than advertised. If he can turn into an average 3 point shooter he has a role off the bench in the league, even if it’s 2 years away. And 6-8 3 and D guys are not a dime a dozen.
But until he performs on court, at least in the g-league, there isn’t a ton of value there
The discount was just the buyout fee removed. The Knicks signed first-round draft pick Pacome Dadiet to 80 percent of a standard first-round contract on Thursday after paying $850,000 to Ratiopharm Ulm, Dadiet’s German club, as part of a buyout, per SNY’s Ian Begley.
The deal saves New York roughly $900,000 under the 2024-25 hard cap because the buyout paid overseas doesn’t count towards the team’s salary.
Dadiet is not taking a discount and the contract amount is standard for a first-rounder taken in his spot, however the 25th overall pick is taking 80 percent because of what the Knicks are paying on his buyout.

Many saw him as a first round pick.We could have just moved back if we wanted to save money or draft someone overseas and stash them. (Which many thought of Pacom.) So clearly, we like his talent.
The reason the Knicks selected Dadiet over a player like Ryan Dunn who could have contributed right away is tied to being able to have a lower cap number for Pacome
Players who are drafted in the late 1st rd and don't crack the rotation never retain a 1st rd pick value in the trade market.
Maybe another team would have taken Pacome in the first, who knows. What I do know is he does not have the value of a 1st rd pick.
