The language used is strain, and he was ruled out for tomorrow.

Google said strain groin typically takes 4 to 8 weeks to heal.

Re: The Julius Randle Thread
Not sure where to post this question. If Randle opts back in this offseason. Can we trade him right away? Or is there a period of time we have to wait? Also, if he opts in can we still sign Naz and Naw with idea of trading Randle ASAP?
I think he will have more value this offseason if he opts in. Then it is a completely expiring contact for the next team.

I believe the only restriction is what date he becomes eligible for trading, which is true for a lot of other contracts.
Basically we can't trade him on draft night because it's still technically this NBA financial year and his option leaves him in limbo until it's officially acknowledged as picked up or declined. But after the new financial year, his option is official and he's just another contract.

If this is the version we're getting with Randle though, I wouldn't mind if he was kept long term.

Not surprised. The team is calling it a strain. Timber KAT said it a few posts back, 4-8 weeks for a strain. So ideally around the week after the break. Worst case late March.

Alright, let's find out how we play without him. I, for one have been of the mindset of addition by subtraction when it comes to julius.
He has looked like he was buying into our "culture" as of late..
But, let's see how we do.

I think the biggest issue with Randle long term is some of the negative vibes if Randle’s rotation minutes look more like Naw/Naz where they increase in games they are playing well and when they have good matchups but decrease in the times they don’t and you don’t have to worry about playing them in closing minutes other than games where they are hot.
The wolves biggest advantage is their theoretical versatility and depth — but we don’t lean into that versatility and play rotations based on matchups and game flow. I do think there’s a world where Julius is starting to get older and potentially with a decent multi-year contract is more fine with playing more like a role player.
I think Ant and Dante are the only players who should get 35 minutes every night — and Rob has the potential to get there

Time for Naz to show up. Hope his injury is not serious. We probably have to keep Randle next year...

I think that Randle’s injury could be Minott’s last chance to prove himself. We’ll see Jaden play more back up PF, but Naz is also our only decent back up for Gobert, so if there is a time for a back up big to shine, this is the opportunity.

Minnesota actually could use a defensive minded comboforward in last game against WAS, when Kuzma got hot.

Re: The Julius Randle Thread
We went from having good injury luck and people wanting Finch to play young guys like Minott, Shannon, Clark, Dillingham, etc to now having too many injuries and being forced to play Ingles.
If Leonard Miller or Minott can play at all then their chance will be in the next couple of weeks. Clark took his chance and ran with it.

1. If you had played the young guys more earlier, then they would be more ready to play when needed.
2. Finch has an issue with Miller and Minott which became obvious when he went back to Garza instead of going to Miller, and played Ingles in the 3rd instead of going to Minott. Finch even talked about trying to save his key group till the 4th. Well if Ingles is part of that group, why not run Minott for those minutes? The answer is Finch and Minott have a beef, (Jack Borman mentioned something about Minott’s social media during the post game locked on episode,) and that beef is causing problems. Shannon being available and having had a few days to ramp up should help as he might be able to eat 6-10 minutes and contribute some offense. I have Shannon between 8th and 9th in total team offensive pecking order.

Maybe. Maybe not.
