That is assuming all 29 other teams believed that Luka was durable and said no.
Clearly Mavs ownership had zero confidence with Luka being able to handle the rigors of a whole NBA season and have enough left for a strong finals run. Their money, their choice. I'm not taking sides, I'm just reading the situation. Time will tell if it's right or wrong.
Yup,time will tell...but since the reports are that Luka is shocked ,and I'm sure dissapointed, maybe that's exactly what he needs(to light a fire under him) to make that final step in getting better(condition) and show a big F U to the Mavs owners...cause I don't think Nico would do this without the pressure from the owners...or Nico is a great poker Player, considering he was talking how the team is good, they Just need to get healthy
Dumont bought majority share in a sports team to make money. Not for pride or anything. It's to make money. This is actually a business for them as opposed to Cuban who started out as a fan. Cuban said it himself when he mentioned that Dumont had zero knowledge when it came to sports teams and he had zero knowledge when it came to casinos and real estate. They are here to make money regardless of where that money comes from. If the bottomline is the same and you get out of your obligation to tie yourself down with a supermax for half a decade, then you lessen the risk. If the money is the same, the businessman will go to the option with less risk.
