Then sell Luka to OKC for a ton of picks and someone the Lakers want and give the Lakers that guy and some of the picks. You get AD plus a bunch of picks.

Or at least extract every asset LAL has. They left a first, two young players, and a couple swaps on the table.

The NBA on Wednesday approved Cuban’s sale of a controlling interest in the Mavericks to the Adelson and Dumont families, who run Las Vegas Sands Corp.

The deal was approved just shy of a month since Miriam Adelson and Sivan and Patrick Dumont announced their intention to buy the club. The purchase is in the valuation range of $3.5 billion.

Patrick Dumont, Adelson’s son-in-law and president and chief operating officer of Las Vegas Sands, will serve as Mavericks governor. Adelson is the widow of casino magnate Sheldon Adelson.

Is this the Mavs new owners tanking the team attendance/creating ill will to move the team to Vegas? Or the league talking the new owners into trade Luka to LAL in exchange for a massive payday from Vegas (and free new stadium) to move the team there?

Those are the only things that make sense here because any other way you look at the trade, it’s so bad the league commissioner should void it.
