I don’t think 35 year old, primadonna, Jimmy Butler is moving the needle much this year. This roster has a lot of flaws beyond just getting rid of Middleton and calling it a day.
I honestly can’t understand how anyone can watch this team and think we’re a trade away from winning a title. Respectfully, that’s pure delusion, in my opinion.
If you go on bball index and filter it so it only shows players classified on defense as "wing stoppers," you will learn two things:
1. There are not a lot of defensive wing stoppers who qualify as legit two way players.
2. Jimmy, even at 35, playing on a team he has no interest in, is at the top of the list when you sort by overall impact (per game, not cumulative).
Those things can be true and still not move the needle closer to a championship these season. If you think Jimmy Butler is the answer to all the team’s problems and the key to a title, then I’d have to question whether you’ve actually been watching games.
I dont put much stock into pre deadline games in late Jan/early feb. I cant imagine the motivation level is super high right now. To that end, no, i havent watched any games lately.
I know what Giannis and Dame will be in the playoffs. Take traffic cone Khris out, put in a legitimate defender who can playmake and score as the third option.
Yeah, i love that.
Jimmy not spending all of his energy to will the team to victory is a Jimmy who can go four rounds.
