Whoever it might be need to have a vision of building a team holistically, not just via throwing money at FA, not just by making trades for disgruntled and/or older stars but also through the draft and through shrewd trades to acquire draft capital.

But I think the most important quality in my view would be their ability manage Ishbia. Ishbia will always have the last say as he's the owner but this GM needs to be able to manage him so that Ishbia isn't being GM but just approving the GM's decisions. Ishbia needs to believe it is what he would've done even if there's no GM

Does Sam Presti have a protege?

But you are right - ishbia would have to be managed

GM's are tough. Most GM candidates you've likely never heard of because they are like VP's or assistant GM's that won't have the same level of media attention as GM's. So they could come from anywhere and you just don't know how good they are as GM's because they aren't GM level. And of course, most if not all higher profile good GM's are already with a team.

Maybe someone who could be pried away and has good credentials like Ujiri may be an option

Flex hasn’t really tweeted about Durant but today he did

He was almost angry at the thought of the suns not trading for Butler

Embarrassing that he thinks the Suns should do whatever to prove him right basically

Trade Nurkic/FRP for Val/filler and then package Val in a larger trade.

Kuminga/Butler/Green sound better than KD honestly.

Durant to Houston for a young player or two and all our picks back. Get it done! I'm not on board with a Booker trade to Houston for picks, but Durant? I'd be good with. Durant is an all-time talent, but this team has been terrible to watch since he arrived, I want Book back to being a killer. He defers too much with KD.

Not only do we get Butler but make the Warriors send back their assets.

KD/Steph/PG would be my guess is the finished product for them.

Now this I could get behind

Book/Jimmy/KumBucket/Green(PG)/Richards
Beal off the bench

Is it a big stepdown from what we have now...? :dontknow:

It's insane to me that we want Jimmy so bad we'd give up KD, who Ishbia apparently loves

Doesn't make sense to me

Beal going to lead the bench unit until he is an expiring.

Booker/Butler/Kumi/Green would be an interesting group.

Most likely Ishbia is getting the tingles over Draymond due to the Michigan connection. And to a much lesser extent because he can add some toughness and edginess as a lower end alternative to getting Butler in a trade.

Still though it's a step in the right direction if we're able to move on from KD because we've plateaued with this core

Dont want Green but he is an ex Spartan like the man who owns the team so, not completely farfetched.
