IMO,... the Lakers should consider signing Duarte as a 2-way? IMO, he fits best as a catch & shoot, can be a defender guard next to a player like Doncic? It's a slower paced game, that relies heavily on Luka creating opportunities, with the need for catch-&-shoot players as the 3rd option on nearly every action. Duarte could thrive in that environment, where the pace & 'connection' responsibilities aren't as dynamic as the Pacers offense. He would also be less 'on an island' on defense?
Just a small bit of hope, that he could catch a break & catch on somewhere where his game fits & he could have a chance?

Since he has more than 3 years of nba service, Duarte is ineligible to sign as a Two-Way player.

Whenever I have watched Middleton play since their championship I always think of the Paul Pierce in the wheelchair clip.

I think of him putting up 25/9/5 against the Pacers this past playoffs on 48/36/90 splits.

@Scoot - I don’t keep up with type of stuff. Is 25 games the normal, first offense, 1 x use, caught in a test, kinda penalty? Honestly asking, can’t remember the last time I saw a suspension for drug, sorry edit: banned substance use?

To the best of my memory, it takes multiple offenses to get a suspension. So, he's not new to this sort of "mistake". It's OK with me, as I've never liked the guy to begin with.

25 games is normal for a first time offense? I don't think so, otherwise we would be seeing more suspensions. Then again, I've certainly been wrong before.

It qualifies under the “SPED” program, so a first violation is 25 games. Steroids, performance enhancing, diuretics, and masking agents…
Drugs of abuse have a treatment program. Marijuana used to have a 5 game suspension (then 10, 15, 20, etc) but was largely eliminated in this newest CBA.
