But as I posted above. I think Wright is a trade chip this summer while Sims would probably have been a free agent and not as easily traded. Wright would take a vet minimum deal again and be swapable as a throw in to make salaries balance. Like the 3 players we threw in to make the KAT trade work.
He's this year's Shake Milton. Well, to some degree the Knicks had some injury depth concerns when they got Shake, but they used Shake as part of the trade for Bridges, I think.
So, I think you are right. This is probably to set the team up with some flexibility.
