The problem? The PROBLEM???
We’re 38-16.
Our record against all opponents so far this season:
Over .500: 11-12
Under .500: 25-6
Top 3 Teams: 0-5
Bottom 7 Teams: 17-1
Rest of League: 19-12
You need to forgive people who have higher expectations. The team is built and paid in salary to win now - and by win we mean a title. We made all these flurry of moves. Ending up as a 2nd round exit again wouldn’t really be a success.
thebuzzardman wrote:Since the team is off for a few days I'd like to hope we can spend the next few days in a rigorous debate over the proper way to root for and criticize the team.

it’s always better to win and learn than lose and learn.
yes, indeed.
Yeah no doubt . On the should have called timeout issue, they clearly should have, but also we struggle inbounding the ball even out of a timeout. So maybe they didn’t want to let them get their defense set to guard the inbounds and pass it in quick and that was part of the plan. Which obviously failed spectacularly. But they should probably practice these inbounds situations more or at least make sure the ball is in the hands of a player who they can trust to not F it up. Something they can hopefully learn from so it doesn’t happen in a more meaningful moment

Knicks have a lot to work on if they are trying to win a chip. If they want to win 50 games and excite casual fans then they can keep doing what they are doing.
People can save their tears bro. I ain't handing out tissues for people who can't appreciate a winning team. Used to a good team?Muthafuqqas been crying about this team ALL SEASON!! If that ain't you then good for you. I didn't say anything about pointing out flaws in wins. Not sure why you are coming at me on that front. Thibs is the biggest flaw we have and I have let it be known PLENTY. I don't have time for the constant BS cry baby garbage posts as if nothing is good enough around here though. Crying about the future that hasn't happened and disrespectful to people who are enjoying the present? Those people can kiss my entire ass!
This team has been together for 3.5 months. We replaced 9-10 players from last years battered and tattered roster that Jalen carried to the 2nd round on his back!! We are just getting warmed up. Maybe we fall short in the playoffs. So what? It takes YEARS to build a championship team. Not weeks. We are very close and I am sick of the mutts in here crying about everything. It's fuggin ridiculous. Acting like none of this matters? FOH with that BS.CRY BABIES NEED A DIAPER CHANGE? STFU AND GTFO. There is plenty of room on the GB for pussies like that.
Yeah bro you not watching ball you just happy for the win. If this was a loss we would not be seeing this happy go lucky bs lmao. Y’all know I’m right. So many flaws we must fix to get better. I’m the biggest homer in here I just call it how I see it. If yall want to point out stats, point out our defensive stats tell me if that’s going to win a chip or get us far in playoffs. All of a sudden yall forgot the Celtics game? We did the same things this game man stop playing.
Hard headed just wanna be right. Call it how you see it.

They been saying it’s team defense but it’s really having OG (and to a much lesser point Bridges) out there.
OG does so much on that end, a bit like Mitch before he turned into the hulk.
Looking forward to having Mitch back.
If we can move KAT for Giannes, you do it. (After the Luka” trade”, anything is possible.)
I don’t see a starting unit with Brunson and KAT being able to win it all.
Not with 3 wings trying to make up for it.
I also don’t think Thibs is the right coach.
Wish Bryant was our coach. They shi* the bed there.

One thing is for sure.
Any time the game is on the line we have a good chance to win because

You could argue that Mitch when healthy and OG are the two most impactful defenders for a Thibodeau system.
I want to see how the defense looks when we have Mitch patrolling the paint.

And before you give me the same old bs that Thibs isn’t the guy to win them a ring, I can promise you if the knicks don’t win a ring with this core, it will not be a coaching issue, it will be the talent/experience/depth from other teams will be the reason..not the coach..
WHEN we don’t win it will be because of injuries/attrition. (aka The Thibs Dilemma.)
We should have fired Thibs and promoted Bryant.
Now we’re between a rock and a hard place.
btw - I mostly like Thibs but his stubborness, lack of quick adjustments, lack of in game rookie development, etc…
So let’s look at this logically, you think a coach that has and still has ZERO head coach experience is all of a sudden going to come in and have this team with this current roster have a better record than they currently have and give them a better chance at a ring, truly based on ZERO actual facts or experience to back it up..again just a foolish take

There's no doubt that if both OG and Mitch were healthy for a full playoff run we could make a title run this year.
History says that is unlikely to happen, so it's a wait and see
Without them, we don't do crap in the playoffs though. We just don't have the developed rotational depth with defensive size to go deep into the playoffs.

Yep. The fact that we’re pretty much the same team or less from the past 2 years with no assets is such a massive disappointment. You’d think a team that went all in this summer would be much better against the elite teams. If anything we look worse. Especially defensively.

There is no question that a different coach would get these guys playing better defensively though. Let's see if at least Thibs can make it look good again when he has his 7 foot rim protector in the middle.

36-18 but who's counting? We do have a serious problem though if we want to win a championship. There's 28 games left in the regular season to see if it gets fixed in time.
