Per NBC sports:

Patrick Williams received a platelet rich plasma (PRP) injection to treat tendinosis in his right knee and will be re-evaluated in two weeks.

Matas getting his minutes! Stay healthy dude! (both dudes)

Weird to see a young kid who skipped 2 seasons get this...it's usually players with chronic problems, are on the tail end of their careers, or play massive minutes.

I think this all stems from his foot problem last season which limited his ability to do aerobic stuff and gain the weight, which in turn put added strain on his knees. It would be great if he can stay healthy enough to get his act together for next season.

If the Bulls do, you would be complaining to much to ever hear it.

NBA fan logic we need to trade one of two best players because (Player X) one needs to shine more.

This is always how it plays out with Bulls injury. Player tweaks an injury during the game. Player tells KC that he's not that concerned about the injury. Coach tells media that player has participated during practice but is still having mild discomfort. Player is out 6-8 weeks. Player is out for rest of the season.

Anywho, might as well give those extra PF minutes to Smith who has deserved them all season long.

IDK, injuries are all different and guys feel a responsibility to play with minor injuries. You're right that it usually catches up with them.

But I'm 100% with you on Smith. Why this dude is playing so little baffles me. I want Smith getting 30MPG, if for no other reason just to see if he can handle if for next season.

Injury history and consistent performance regression meant nothing to AKME as they still decided to extend this individual. Just shows how out of touch Bulls management is.

And to be clear, I'm not assigning blame or anything. I'm just pointing out that this is always how it seems to happen with us -- a player has a non-serious injury that almost always without fail somehow evolves into a long or season-ending injury.

Whats the deal with Tendinosis - is this something that goes away? The 1 google link I looked at said this was a chronic overuse condition that can be managed but not eliminated. That seems like a weird condition for a 23 year old who averaged 27 minutes per game in his career to have - is there anyone more familiar with this that can chime in?

It's Bulls. It's albatross contract. Expect him to play 30 games out next 150

Super common injury for even young basketball players. Basically an inflamed tendon, usually from too much strain. IMO, being a little heavy this season contributed.

Its really annoying actually.

Just everything about our franchise is annoying. We have new medical staff and it seems like no matter who we switch musical chairs with, they are all incompetent.

Now who would really be surprised if they announce that Pat is out the rest of the season.

Between the injuries, the lack of on-court progress (except for assists, where he has improved, Pat's 2024-25 stats are across the board equal to or worse than his rookie performance), and his obvious problems with BBIQ, Pat has almost no chance of becoming a good NBA player. Consequently, there is almost no risk in the Bulls moving him, as long as the return for the trade is not even more negative.

It's time to give up, people.

He has never been good so I don't see any significance in whether this season is worse than any other bad season he has had.

The time to give up was before they paid him.

Return to Chicago Bulls
