Thibs as a championship coach ain't it
KAT and Brunson as your top duo ain't it (no defense)

Now the entire world have finally come to the same realization. Only took 3/4 of the season.

Changes are coming this summer. Buckle up.

5th best scoring duo in the NBA ain't it...

I dislike retch like this.

Yeah, that and a quarter will get you a bag of chips... and an 0-7 record against the only three contenders in the NBA... and zero chance at a title this season. It ain't it.

Whatever move they would have made for a 5 then, they could have made after the trade.

Yea because the trade didn't address anything really for us and now we have a massive contract on our hands for 4 years.

It made it harder for us to get a 5 after we gave up everything for Mikal. the tweet i posted criticized both trades mf

He's still an upgrade over Randle. And I'm not a Randle hater. Julius is a good player.

iHart and Mitch were our defense last year (alongside OG). And we lost our defense last summer, with iHart leaving and Mitch taking longer to recover.

So we'd be facing the exact same issues if Randle were still here.

Replacing their defensive impact by making another trade would have been difficult, regardless of the KAT trade. Elite defensive centers don't grow on trees.

Dig up some tweets that focus on the Mikal trade and we're cool

The Towns trade ties back to the Randle trade in a way as there were so few paths to upgrade from Randle that it kind of forced them into the Towns trade.

I still think you make the Towns trade 100 times out of 100. But it's just another example of the ancillary effects of the Bridges trade.

KAT is pretty awful on switches. People keep saying drop coverage is why he sucks but even when he switches he’s a liability.

After we got OG we actually blew out the Celtics last season in Boston

That team had Divo, IHart.

Randle was out.

Sometimes fight and fire are more important than skills (KAT)

Of course Divo and iHart also got game

I hope hope hope we somehow get Divo back from Minny this offseason... he's the one piece you can't lose. He's a championship player.

Maybe DiVo kept Brunson fresher. Mikal is spitting the bit but we have to wait and see if he and OG can jell and make good.

If Johnnie Bryant doesn't want the job, I say we try out Dan Hurley. He claims it's his dream job and he eventually wants to coach in the NBA.

Winning even one quarter by 14 shows you can do it

JB was making the worst passes late

He came out and had no energy upon return

You don't watch the Rockets. Amen Thompson and Tari Eason are what Wingythingy was supposed to be. Dillon Brooks is a walking conflict.

Van vleet isn't playing. Sengun can't defend but they can fix that with Adams. You don't watch other teams if you say Houston has no defenders.

I got yelled at when I said Market reset as soon as we make this trade. Can’t go back but looks like an L in hindsight even though I like the player.
He wasn't needed is the problem.

Boston had fresher legs in the 4th and they turned up the defense exactly how championship teams are supposed to. Made the passing lanes real difficult and log jammed the paint. They actually had a defensive plan in place unlike us.

KAT switching on the screen. The answer to our poor defense

How many times did the Knicks give up a dunk from switching on defense at the top of the key?

How many open 3's did the Knicks give up from playing drop on a screen?

Some of y'all need to stay off of Twitter.

Guess we just gonna have to pray that Mitch comes and fixes:

1) Our interior D
2) Our 3 point D
3) Our pace
4) Our rebounding
5) Our block shots
6) Our minutes distribution
7) Our lack of bench production
8) Our lack of in game strategy

Wonder what the Vegas odds on this would be.

We had Grimes, Donte who are young and can give us the same production as mikal.

Ban r0b for selling us on broken kentucky goods!

We traded grimes before last season was over so that doesn’t count. But in hindsight that was also a bad trade

Mitch and OG for Giannis works let’s go

The Bogdonvic trade didn't work out - but those are the kinds of moves to take because there really isn't a long term effect on the organization going forward.

Sure, it would have been nice to have Grimes around with DDV in a non Bridges world, but we could have lived without him.

They should have just run it back while doing the Towns trade.

I don't know. Trading a cheap young 3 and D player plus a couple 2nds for what became a negative contract in Bogey was still part of our current problem. The Nets didn't take on $23M+ in useless contracts for nothing. It cost the Mavs an unprotected 2030 pick swap just to dump Bullocks $11M last season and he wasn't out for the season like Bogey. Bogey was just bought out a few days ago.
Dumping a broken 35/36 year old Bogey while taking on the other contracts the Knicks added to complete the Mikal deal cost more than a pick swap for sure.

Then the Knicks added more picks to essentially turn Mikal into Grimes with a midrange game. Grimes was the guy taking on all the tough defensive matchups while going long periods without being involved in the offense with no real role in the offense. Giving Thibs a more experienced version of Grimes was pointless since there still is no real flow to the offense. They could have just kept Grimes.
