We had Grimes, Donte who are young and can give us the same production as mikal.
Ban r0b for selling us on broken kentucky goods!
We traded grimes before last season was over so that doesn’t count. But in hindsight that was also a bad trade
Mitch and OG for Giannis works let’s go

The Bogdonvic trade didn't work out - but those are the kinds of moves to take because there really isn't a long term effect on the organization going forward.
Sure, it would have been nice to have Grimes around with DDV in a non Bridges world, but we could have lived without him.
They should have just run it back while doing the Towns trade.
I don't know. Trading a cheap young 3 and D player plus a couple 2nds for what became a negative contract in Bogey was still part of our current problem. The Nets didn't take on $23M+ in useless contracts for nothing. It cost the Mavs an unprotected 2030 pick swap just to dump Bullocks $11M last season and he wasn't out for the season like Bogey. Bogey was just bought out a few days ago.
Dumping a broken 35/36 year old Bogey while taking on the other contracts the Knicks added to complete the Mikal deal cost more than a pick swap for sure.
Then the Knicks added more picks to essentially turn Mikal into Grimes with a midrange game. Grimes was the guy taking on all the tough defensive matchups while going long periods without being involved in the offense with no real role in the offense. Giving Thibs a more experienced version of Grimes was pointless since there still is no real flow to the offense. They could have just kept Grimes.
