Sooooooooo um what is Paolo and Franz?

We do understand that this is not 1990s. Everyone on the court should be able to handle the ball and make plays these days.

I watch all these teams like the Cavs, Celtics, Thunder, Grizzlies that have players nobody heard of that fit into their scheme and are productive.

What tf is our scheme? Mid range shots?

Aren't you kinda proving his point though? The magic need to get better players that fit their scheme. Missing wide open threes is not a coaching issue? Not having a PG is not a coaching issue. These are personnel/player skill issues rather than coaching issues.

I think we shouldn't pick up Jett's $5m option. Malik Beasley and Ty Jerome got $2m this season.

I stopped watching once Mosley didnt challenge Franz's 3rd foul. We arent going to win **** with him as a coach. He is a pussy.

Hes a really good assistant coach, culture builder, but not a head coach.

If he doesn’t have a nervous tick that makes you sniff every 5 seconds that’s already an improvement over Weltman

Jett will get packaged with Cole/WCJ and picks as a youth player who just needs to play a ton where wins aren’t important.
A scoring guard.. never heard of one.

Honestly, I think that is the best thing that can happen to Jett.

No letting your players shoot fadeaway mid range shots is a coaching issue. It’s an egregious shot that should never be done.

Franz and Paolo are two guys a coach like SVG would put in a position to succeed.

No PG? What would having a PG do to Franz/Paolo? Anybody can be a PG these days. Franz and Paolo need the ball in their hands. They are not posting up waiting to shoot 3s off the PG running the show.

Ppl hate this but one needs dealt in a massive trade for better roster construction. Which will have to wait for a better coaching staff.

It’s one of the two.

You either trade Paolo (because you simply don’t trade Franz) and you build a better system around Wagner.

OR

You get a point guard and possibly a new head coach. You cannot utilize Paolo the way he is now. It’s just bad nonsensical basketball.

So if you are a fan of Paolo, and want him to succeed, you should be praying to god for a point guard and a coach that knows how to effectively scheme around his skillset. Addressing neither isn’t an option if you have been watching this team for any stretch of time.

He is getting a healthy amount of shots. He is like top 3 in the league at drawing fouls and getting to the line. AND HES STILL inefficient. Is this loss on Paolo? No. But the offense is to blame and he’s currently half of that equation himself.

Paolo's presser was fascinating. Said they can't just keep talking about things changing and actually need to change things.

We have a completely different views of what the issues are. Middies are not the reason why the Magic are losing, being dead last in three-point shots made is a bigger reason why the magic are losing. A lack of bench production is a massive reason why the magic are losing. Recently the Magic have been playing Paolo in a lot of pick and rolls and taking the ball out of his hands or posting him up, which has helped him quite a bit, it would be nice to have a point guard to run it with him.

Again, these are not coaching issues but personnel issues. The need to consistently blame Mose for things he cannot control is crazy especially since he has been pretty good this year.

And it's funny you bring up SVG, when he even commented throughout the game the biggest issue for the Magic is their lack of three-point shooting and how that has negatively impacted Paolo and Franz into taking more inefficient shots.

Yeah?

What could he possibly be talking about?

The trade deadline is over. What could they change at this point? His shot selection could be a welcome change maybe.

Trading Paolo now is a non starter.... Full stop.... Let's be serious here.... Just get the right guys around them and continue their development since our best players are both years from their primes.... Just get the right personell around them

Our offense would look so much better with someone like Austin Reaves. He's not going anywhere unfortunately.

How about other players taking and making shots so he doesn’t feel like he has to take every shot.
