A jab step from above the break is an essential tool for any triple threat scorer. It sets up so many go to moves especially when you can just knock down the 3 from the jab step. Who on the Knicks besides Brunson and KAT can execute that effectively? The answer is nobody.
Deandre Hunter = 3 level scorer…. because he used a jab step once lmao
I’ve heard it all
Something so simple yet effective and Mikal can’t do it. That was the whole point. Mikal doesn’t even have a pump fake. Can’t create any separation with the ball unless it’s a contested fadeaway. That’s his “bag”

Na don’t move the goalposts lol. I read you saying to Jay “You aren’t familiar with Hunter, he’s so much more skilled than Bridges and he doesn’t need to be set up for open looks like Bridges does.” Which is some hilarious bullshyt because he’s not so much more skilled and absolutely does need to be set up for open looks.
You want Mikal to be KD but he’s not, but that doesn’t mean he’s unskilled and incapable of getting buckets like you’re suggesting by completely dismissing his work and ability.
If Thibs staggered the lineups properly to give him more opportunities (because the starting 5 is full of guys who need a good amount of touches) and maybe implemented some sort of offensive system or any shred of creativity on that end (with both Mikal and KAT), then maybe he would look more like he did in BK his first year.
Not only that, but maybe if he didn’t put him out of position at the POA running thru the most screens in the league and played him the most mpg in the league, he’d perform better offensively.
