Zion has been excellent and that too when Pelicans are limiting his minutes so that they can tank better.

He averaged 25-7-5 in February playing only 28 minutes per game while being 62% from the field.

He just had a monster game against Lakers playing only 26 mins. He was unarguable.

This off-season is the perfect time to trade him because I don't think his value will be higher any time in the future.

Last season he played a career high 70 games at 31.5 minutes per game. Some players need to play low minutes to maintain their energy and efficiency, and that energy and efficiency will clearly go down if they played more minutes. Giannis is another one.

It's silly to scale up their stats to look prettier when ini all likelihood, their stats would not scale linearly. Because if they did, they'd play more.

It's not useless if you are using it to compare Zion to Zion. Small sample size and all but he's at career highs across the board per 36. Of course, he's having career highs across the board in per game stats minus points, anyway. He's doing it in 28.3 minutes a game.

Giannis also plays 34-35 minutes a game, I wouldn't say that's low minutes.

It’s not scaling, and has nothing to do with per game. That is his actual production on average per 36 minutes on the court. I have no idea how long it’s been used but certainly over a decade, probably multiple. It’s a way to make more apples to apples comparisons, and per game is not. Especially when discussing a guy that is being intentionally limited in a season long ended for the Pels. Zion is dominating, point blank. That’s the moral of the story.

Zion always plays like a star when he steps on the floor. He’s had like a month or so in his whole career where he’s kinda struggling, and even that is always like 20 ppg, 7 rebounds on over 50% shooting.

He misses a ton of games, but he never plays like garbage like Simmons does.

He's not netting NOLA an AD-Lakers like haul with that god-awful injury history but he is young enough where if teams see him finish a year strong I think he nets em atleast 1 or 2 FRP as it stands rn

I think Zion plays well whenever he is on the court and fully healthy.
His problem is being injury prone. If he wasn't injury prone then he would easily be a top 10 guy in the league by now.

Ben Simmons problems are totally different.

Ben Simmons' career was derailed by back injuries... So not really that different.

I'd just hold onto him and try to manage him. He's a special player when he's healthy and nobody is going to pay enough to get him because of the high injury risk. It's not easy to find stars like that for a team like the Pelicans.

I think the Pelicans aren't as bad as they appear to be right now anyway. They've had a crazy amount of injuries this season. Trey Murphy has come along nicely and Yves Missi looks like a starting caliber center.

Missi-Zion-Herb-Trey-Dejounte is not a bad lineup at all.
