I'd really like to see KCP end the season with a scorching shooting spree...so we have a hope of moving him this summer. I don't dislike him, but him AND Suggs, at their salary points just don't make sense together. IF they were to move Suggs, maybe KCP sticks...but I'd say this recent injury makes Suggs a lot less attractive to a potential trade partner. I'd rather not trade him anyway, but it might be a moot point now. Our picks are the key to any trades as our "assets" are all bottomed out this season...every one of them.
If Weltman is clinging so desperately to("my precious") to his next bungled, late frps again, we're in a bind. I hope he opens the vault and gets serious about fixing this mess.
*I know I sound very distraught about the state of the team...it's mostly because the repairs are there for the taking, he's honestly just a non-confrontational P#$%%y who can't have a tough conversation. Whining about other GMs trying to "squeeze him"? WTF is that? Deals can be made if the desire is there...it's not like there's only one GM in the league to deal with. What's so infuriating is how close we are and yet we look like hot garbage out there because of missing role players (not stars). The money is just sitting on the table and he refuses to stick his scrawny neck out of his shell to grab it.
Another point that has been (somewhat) understated is the fact that Nate Tibbets' spot was not filled when he left. I didn't really pay much attention to this but leaving a significant hole in the coaching staff is malpractice...especially if he was the "offense" guy. I don't know if that's really the case but it was pointed out on my new favorite podcast "Penny & Pops"...that's potentially more detrimental than ignoring the loss of Moe to a season-ending injury and yet, just nothing...so, that's another summer decision and it's kind of positive because they can get Mose some help without publicly calling it "help" and calling him out for his lack of offensive ability, just filling an open slot
