At this point the draft is the best option, barring a surprise trade. They made the mistake of passing on McConkey last season. Maybe they've learned and take Restrepo this year.
I mean the numbers would disagree with this take. The Packers have consistently scored more when they have one of MVS or Watson playing under MLF.
Last year with Watson they scored over 27 points per game, without him it was less than 20. In the 3 years they've had Watson they've scored about 2.5 more points per game with Watson then without him. They also consistently scored less when MVS wouldn't play before Watson. Having a deep threat is crucial to an offense and even if they don't put up huge numbers themselves, it opens up the field for other guys. If you don't have a deep threat then the defense can condense the field down and make life a lot harder for the other guys.
So they have massive talent issue or MLF is clueless
I mean having a deep threat is huge is any offense for opening up underneath stuff. The Packers offense struggled mightily the year Jordy went down. The Chiefs & Bills both have recently signed MVS to deals. It's fairly common football strategy to have a guy that defenses have to respect deep in order to open up the rest of the field. Its also why offenses in general struggle more in the redzone than between the 20s, because the field is condensed.
