Guys, this isn't acceptable. Everybody knows better.

Somewhat unbelievably nobody has reported anything and the conversation seems to have moved on so I'm not going to go crazy here...but seriously, way over the line. Next time I will not feel the least bit bad about responding more vigorously.

Missed whatever that discussion was- this game was a bit late for me yesterday.

I will echo Cow in encouraging folks to use the report button if someone is stepping over the line. This isn't a particularly tightly run forum- suspensions and such are fairly rare in these parts. But as mods we need to be notified as to what is going on.

Liberal use of the Foes list usually means I don’t see the reportable stuff ….

This. I wasn't on the forum last night when it happened but I wouldn't have seen at least half of it personally

You should have read the game threads in 03-08

Fun times. I would argue with Cow about anything and everything. I was also 34 when I joined. Arguing about nothing seemed like good entertainment then.

Darko needs real playing time to develop, Larry! Darko sucks, he dunks on chairs. Why did he color his hair, he looks like an idiot. Darko starting fights in bars is not great news.

(I may have made that last one up… it’s been 20 years, after all)

We could have drafted Carmelo! Carmelo is ass. We could have drafted DWade or Bosh, though. Eh, Larry may not have played them, either. Larry is an idiot. Larry is a traitor. Should have kept Rick as coach. Skip is great, though! And on and on and on…

I was actually a GB mod before being a Pistons mod and I would argue with anybody about anything. I also had a lot more free time on my hands.

These days I try to emphasize things like kindness & tolerance over conflict. Not that it isn't still fun to have a healthy debate, but it's just not that important that I be "right" anymore. *shrug*

The biggest transition I’ve noticed from my 20’s to 30’s to 40’s to now 50’s is the level I care about what other people think, and more specifically, what other people think OF ME. I found a great woman when I was 37, one that tolerates me being a jackass every once in a while, and it calmed me the hell down. Now if I run into a situation where I think a person is wrong, I rarely feel the need to tell them. Be wrong. Or maybe I’m wrong. Whatever. Doesn’t matter much.

I must have missed the bad posts. Best to just attack the post, not the poster.

Hard to believe the Pistons forum here was the 2nd most popular posting forum of all RealGM for a few years starting around 2003. Really fell off once the Pistons dropped .

Keanu’s the celebrity with the best set of values on the planet. I take that as high praise, but he’s definitely a better person than me.

As I get older, I'm just quicker to pull the plug on folks who show themselves as not worth my time or consideration. If you can't bring respect and empathy to the discussion, I don't need you in my life, virtual or otherwise.
