Do you really think you know better than Peters? You were the one saying we should trade the pick we used on Jayden.
I still hold to that. Jayden Daniels is amazing and I said he should have been the pick if we keep it. But let not pretend that Jayden did exceed expectations by about 100X. I still hold to it that trading back for a haul in a very very hyped draft would have been smart. Yes we got a franchise QB but that doesn't change the math we just be the odds.
With an underrated WR draft it's a good time to get a discount on good prospects. Which I feel with 2 solid vets in place would be a good time to try and reach for some wr options.

Trading that pick would have been the second biggest disaster in franchise history, second only to Snyder buying the team.
Jayden exceeded expectations by 100x?

First off yes, he absolutely exceeded expectations.
Let not have this debate in hindsight.
Because Jayden ended up being special, way more special that any one though he could be. This kid has had the single best rookie season of any player in the NFL ever and there might be only a couple of arguments for other guys that aren't that close. If he stays healthy he might be the guy that can challenge Tom and Patty for GOAT status. Look at what he did with the very not good WR core, sub par RB room and a TE room that was held together by a 35 year old vet, and a suspect OL. This kid is generationally good.
But let's not pretend like every one knew that at the time. They didn't, I didn't, you didn't, no one did. I said ever chance I got if we don't trade back the picks Jayden all day. I didn't like his age and how skinny he was. But other than that hes a dog and the talents there. I was never a Williams guy.
Taking it back to the time, where maybe the bear wise up and didn't take Kaleb, where we knew this was going to be a generationally good draft. That isn't hind sight we knew there were 5 or 6 potentially good starting QBs we knew the WR depth was almost day three deep with potential starters. We knew the OL depth was fantastic. Trading back for a historical haul in a historically hyped draft was a good idea at the time.
We got lucky that Jayden ended up in the right place with the right HC, in the right offense and was so much more special than anyone dreamed he'd be. That doesn't change the math on the logic then.
I agree I wouldn't do it in hinde sight but no one saw this kid coming on like this.
I'm not saying I know more than peters. He's done great but he's done great by gambling big and it paying off at an unusually high percentage. I don't think enough was done to upgrade the WR and RB rooms yet. Brown, Osbourne, Mcnichols are guys you can find on the street in December of you need bodies. Maybe they are SB loaded camp deals as thank yous for all they did last year. That's fine but we need some upgrades.
I think and hope we trade out of the first round this year. This draft is deep as hell with starting caliber edge talent and starting caliber RB talent. We can capitalize by trading back and regaining the assets that we lost in trades.
