Over the cap's projections. They are spot on with a few exceptions at the margins. Xavier McKinney netted the last 3rd instead of the first 4th. Bobby Wagner netted a late 5th instead of a high 6th. The only major discrepancy? The Niners' two fourths and a seventh turned into a fourth and two sevenths. Very similar phenomenon last year with Garoppolo, whose contract was clearly commensurate with a third-round pick.

This wouldn’t be the first time the league slapped the Niners down as an example to the league for pushing the envelope; it was the Niners safeties they used as the demonstrations of the kinds of hits they wanted to see cleaned up by the new safety rules in the videos the league distributed, and the next season they were absolute flag magnets.

League also decided to kneecap the 49ers, by giving them the worst rest disparity in the league by a considerably wide margin. Oh and they did this each of the last 2 seasons.

I'm not the type to shout conspiracy theories, but the NFL sure isn't doing much in favor of San Francisco.

DE: Bosa / Jackson
DT: Elliot
DT: Anderson
DE: YGM

LB: ???
LB: Warner
LB: Winters

this is our front 7 right now...brutal lol...even if we hit on 2 guys in the front seven in the draft we still won't be in a great position.

I often have to be reminded DJ is still on this team.

Would you guys trade 1.11 for Seattle's 1.18 and 2.52?

We get an extra rounder for going down 7 spots, but do make a trade with an in-division rival

No, because we need a high impact player more than more picks

Almost certainly. Unless Graham or Membou is there, not sure the player we could get at 11 would be markedly better than the one at 18.

yea im thinking yes, I'm really liking Jihaad Campbell or Jalon Walker for this team and good chance we can get one at 18, and then hit the trenches with the two seconds.

Out of curiousity I went to Profootball Reference and looked at the 49ers drafts under Bill Walsh. The biggest one was the 1986 draft where he basically retooled the defensive roster with that draft. The 1984 draft was good too. But that is rare. There were also drafts like 1985 and 1987 where only the first round pick was notable and the others did not pan out. The odds of a hitting a home run draft are slim

With Mason being traded, thoughts on Skattebo? Apparently they've met with him already

In the 4th or later? Fine. If we traded Mason for a late-round swap and a 6th next year, and then use a 3rd or higher on a RB, I'm going to lose my mind. It's really deep RB draft. We should be waiting.

He won't last to 4th imo. I could see him going late 2nd or mid 3rd

Yeah, I'm a no in that case. Too many good backs in this draft, and we have too many pressing needs. But I wouldn't be surprised at all if Kyle disagrees with me....

Me boy seems to be moving into the top OT spot.

Who is your like dream realistic drop at 11?

Graham and then Membou for me. After that, my first choice would likely be to trade back, even if the value isn't entirely there. If we had to stay put and pick, maybe Campbell or Banks at OL, Pearce at DE, Nolen at DT? All feel like pretty risky picks at this point....

Maiocco mocks Walker, DE from Georgia, to the 49ers.

They're not gonna make any improvements to the OL again, are they?

I think we need to be prepared for that. Ironically, the OL may improve simply due to Banks leaving for a big payday. But other than DT, where we no longer even have a single starting-caliber player, center is almost certainly the biggest hole on this team. And we still don't seem to have an answer for when Trent finally hangs them up.
