That way the Suns would go under the 2nd apron next year gaining flexibility and with the salary cap going up around 5% every year those $22M wouldn't be such a big deal in 2028 and 2029.
Not sure if I would do it but it's option to consider for real.

Seeing how Cody is helping us wing games with defense I would be open to keeping him but of course this means we need to get rid of someone else if we want to get under the 2nd apron. I think Grayson probably is the one that needs to be moved but his contract is no longer a good value with his injury woes and his falling back to earth after a spectacular first season in Phoenix.
Stretching Beal
Keeping Booker
Both are just moves that a desperate owner makes to seem like he is “trying”
Sorry - not falling for it
Maybe the people who like Book more than actually winnning will approve do they can keep his jersey are good with it - but it makes no sense
Stretching Beal just takes future cap space
More activity over accomplishment
Truly not sure why trading Booker is off the table
I can make a rational argument that the team built around Beal after trading for Booker is better than a team built around Booker, stretching Beal would be better
I would be open to trading Booker too but depends what we're getting in return and accepting trash in return doesn't make any sense.
Also if we're keeping Booker it makes more sense to waive and stretch Beal now because Book's drop off in a couple years could be steep if he can't become a more consistent 3 point shooter as he's already below average in terms of speed and athleticism.
Book has probably a 2-3 year window of him playing at a really high level and after that he likely won't be as efficient and probably worse on defense.
