I swear this is BS. Most of us believe he’s capable of providing spot mins while letting Brunson or Deuce rest and getting realtime game mins to develop.

Pls, you've been here long enough to know that some around here make outlandish comparisons about our rookies and then see a lil light and peacock about their shtty takes. Then those that call em out on it are labeled "haters"... which we can be but that doesn't take away from my point.

Yes, that's been a thing for years. Decades even. Eventually, the fans do get it right. Comparing and outright stating their going to be All NBA players are differet, though. This team has had some diamond in the roughs -- when given the chance -- have produced. IQ. Deuce (even if I am disappointed with him this year).

i don't think that's fully true. we're playing a terrible team so he's not getting exposed on d. but if you're young and can play d thibs will often play you. history has shown that. quick and grimes got minutes early. even this year they traded sims away partially because they decided that hukporti was ready. if he didn't get hurt he would have been getting those minutes.

this isn't the first terrible team we have faced all year though.

We have been through this. Payton was his starter all year because of NET rating (getting carried by starters). Payne isn't being removed because of NET rating (mostly due to our early season success).

But the offense has been bogged down since all-star break and especially with Brunson out it would be nice to have a guard get us easy buckets.

Kolek would get hunted vs a team like BOS or CLE...I get that. TJ McConnell still finds a way to be productive in his minutes...and you can see Kolek isn't a horrible defender...he just not overly fast or strong. But he is a good off ball defender that gets his hands in passing lanes and knows where to be on rotations.

Thibs is a guy that has a rotation and basically sticks to it. Yes defense probably gets you on the court quicker than offense with thibs...I agree...but then there is a clear disconnect with FO and THibs....they drafted Kolek to be a helpful ball handler for the bench. You have said we need another ball handler...we have him in a bench capacity but he never plays.

Why couldn't Kolek play against the Hornets?

Deuce played. Thibs is only finally playing Kolek because he's last man on deck with Deuce out tonight

I understand but Deuce has played the 2 next to Payne and Brunson most of the season. He could have played the 2 next Kolek and Payne against the Hornets.

Shouldn't Kolek be able to get minutes against the Spurs or Hornets with how the team looked? Deuce is the back up 2. Brunson is out. Thibs chose to move Deuce to 1 full time and run a short rotation

Under Daignault, Lue, Spo, Kenny, Kerr, Kolek would have got 6-9 mpg consistently every night, even in tight games. This fool just wasted 85% of the season tiring the key players and wasting away the bench players

Comparisons are about TYPES of players and to some degree about potential, not current levels of achievement.

Saying Grimes is in the Klay mold was accurate. It did not mean he was an All-Star, but trolls don't care about the truth, just being trolls.
