People keep saying this but what exactly does this look like to you guys? We have the 6 players under contract for next season in Giannis, Dame, Kuzma, AJ Green, Pat, Tyler Smith, and zero draft picks (I guess a 2nd round pick in the mid-40's if you wanna get technical). A lot of you guys aren't gonna like the scenario that likely ends up happening, but it's still probably the best scenario.
This is the off-season where the conversation with Giannis that we've all been dreading takes place. Just my prediction.
Ok, but if that's true then we actually do need to worry about how we're gonna retain KPJ and whatever other meager young talent that's on the roster. There's no way around our inability to navigate a full scale rebuild without access to any of our draft picks until 2031.
It's going to be difficult but there's still a way. We all need to be fans of whoever's playing against OKC during the playoffs. They're our ticket.
We don't control our own destiny but it's the best available option. My comment is more aimed at the idea that in the scenario - retaining KPJ is kind of a who GAF.
