This is from my 7/22/24 SL post:
"Holland is a gifted athlete having pretty much all the athletic tools. He's aggressive and fearless at both ends. Yes, he needs to tighten his handles and improve situational awareness, but he just turned 19. A league average shot is all that stands in the way of being an all-star, and his shot doesn't look hopelessly broken. Holland, who isn't shy of the physical game, will naturally get stronger. He takes defense and rebounding seriously. No one knows what the future holds, but many omens augur well."
November you say? Well, better late than never.![]()
You also finished with “if this isn’t all fool’s gold”… I went back and read the whole post.
I’m still driving this bus! You can have a first class seat, though.
Just out of my curiosity and find you to be a smart poster. What other guys have you been high on? I don’t think I’ve seen you high on many players is why I’m asking. It gets me even more excited for Holland that you’re excited about him.
Pistons future looking nice, I’m excited. Not sure I want a big name or they keep trying the internal thing.
I don’t even keep receipts for myself, honestly. If I want to look good, I could cite my interest in Dyson Daniels pre-draft, but there have been plenty of misses, too. In a general sense, it’s good thing I’m a Pistons fan, because great defense gets me more amped up than anything. This is the main reason why Ivey irritates me at times — he should be much better defensively than he is. Mother is a college head coach and he has the physical gifts needed.
A guy like Duren really twists me up. He’s oh so valuable to Cade as an elite cutter and lob-catcher, and I love his hands and passing instincts, too. If he had Stewart’s nose for defense he’d be a future All-NBA guy himself. Gotta hope he has the capacity to get even better defensively. Going from bad to meh is a nice step, but not good enough.
