BLK rate down but also cut down on stupid fouls this year. Crashes offensive glass, boxes out, 3:1 AST-TO, versatile defender, huge steal rate as full time starter.

Very draftable and underrated rotation potential as defense/garbage man who plays clean basketball.

Bruce Pearl routinely refers to him as the best defensive player in the SEC. That means something.

10th most efficient player in CBB according to Miya too.

He should try granny smith FT's.

probably but because he has such low scoring vol and is ultra efficient in other areas it doesn't affect his game too much

I don't think the Chomche situation is influencing anything.. maybe a handful of ppl. He was basically a free roll where we bet on his physical tools with a super late pick we got for cash and will see where he's at after next year. Sucks he got injured tho, id like to have seen him during these tank games

I forget who it was but some NBA/draft YouTube channel went to see a camp Maluach and Chomche were in last off season and called them raw and rawer. But Maluach is certainly further along and would be our backup C next year

I am worried about Chomche long-term. Hopefully it is a quick recovery. Inexperienced frontcourt players who miss time early on really kills their development and may even kill their shot at staying in the league. James Wiseman had so much talent but injuries caught up to him, Koloko lost a lot of time as well. I think Chomche needs so much time to see if he is anything.

I agree with you that Maluach is our back-up C next year, easily. He may be only a rim runner on offense, but in a couple years he will be able to start and hit threes. Maybe Chomche can be his back-up in a couple years.

Chomche is already healthy. There just isn't a reason to rush him back. He is going to get rocked by the tanking talent we're competing against and hurt his confidence. Summer league, GLeague, and then playing tanking teams next year will be a better approach. It'll increase his confidence and hopefully produce a rotation level big.

Where did you see that he is healthy? is he practicing? if he isn't he is not healthy

CMB is much better than Mogbo

Also Sabonis would probably not be functionally better than Yak on this team. He's probably a better passer and rebounder but with our lack of spacing he isn't going to score as easy inside and he's worse defensively. Also makes like 20 million more

Fears is like Carlton Carrington level prospect. Carrington did well in the 3pt shooting drills at the combine which got him into the lottery. Whereas Fears played on a better team and got more exposure right away.

Fears gets to the hoop and craves contact whereas Carrington didn't get to the hoop well, but they are both very young and Bub nearly had a 30 pt triple double.

Fears is the prospect that stresses me out. I don't want to miss out on the next Kyrie because his live dribble is so smart and deceptive and he has real speed and strength. He carried the team towards the end. But his defense was so bad, he was a target at the end.

Carrington was always a tease to me. He had elite moments early on in college and then it was like Jaland Lowe was the better guard. Bub is doing okay in the NBA, but at this point in the season any player can get a 30 point game and I wouldn't flinch.

Defense is the issue with both guys. They are just not impactful despite some decent size.

Well he had 32 pts, 9 rebs, 7 ast (and only 1 to). That's impressive for rookie, against tanking teams still.

You know my dream is that we draft Maluach who is slow to develop, and Ingram plays 30 games before we trade him, and we tank for Cam Boozer. They we have a team!

Boozer's shooting gives him mid level all-star floor if he scales up. He's an incredible prospect and going to Duke is going to really prepare him for NBA ball. WCS #2 on a winning team w/ potential for more.

I have em ranked

1. Peterson
2. Boozer
3. Quaintance
4. Dybantsa

It's too early to completely hate on AJ but something about him is fishy to me.

Nate Ament?
Tounde Yessoufou?
Alijah Arenas?

CMB put up similar stats as Mogbo at 4 years younger and in the best conference in college basketball history as opposed to a mid major. CMB can also create his own offense. Yes, they are a similar size and both good rebounders, defenders, and have good bbiq. The difference is CMB projects significantly better.

All you have to do is watch them play instead of looking at stats to know that CMB is much more polished, and better offensively, compared to Mogbo

My follow up post mentioned he’s def more polished off the dribble and finishing, aswell as just being an obviously higher end talent. I’m just expressing that they do similar things well, how they accomplish those things looks a bit different. Mogbo is more of an athlete, CMB more polished. Mogbo looks a bit more agile, CMB a bit wider and stronger.

The sounds of a 6 6” centre isn’t all that appealing to me if you aren’t an incredible athlete, so how well that translates to the nba will remain to be seen. And while I can see he played in a much better conference, his team was 2-16 in that conference, finishing last overall. Prob a reflection of his teammates, but still an item of note.

I’m personally just done drafting the same type of forwards over and over again. Good length, good defender, can’t shoot, limited off the dribble… and then hoping for the best.

Or is he the Jerryd Bayless of this draft?

Personally, I'ma have faith in Masai, Bobby and Tolzman. These dudes are really damn good at drafting.

No one on this site has a better drafting record than our executive team and scouting department.

Lillard and Steph spent multiple years in college so it was easier to see they would be special. One and done guys is difficult to gauge. Fears has had a good year for a freshman though. Does he ultimately dominate if he stays again or just more of the same efficiency but higher volume is the question.

I am unsure you can have Fears increasing his volume from 32% usage to even higher.
I only see 4 or 5 players out of top 200 having above 32% usage, and mostly are 5'11 guards.

He certainly can improve his shooting for efficiency and defense, perhaps play a little more off ball, but I think he showed enough to be in the top 10.

The draft is the fundamental way for any team not good enough to compete to go from bottom feeder to contender/Champions if you get lucky.....Some drafts are worth going for and some are not....This 2026 draft class is totally worth it for many bad teams in the NBA....

You get a potential superstar on a cheap contract while also having the rights to extend that player for at least 5 years after the rookie deal....

No reason to hate on the draft when its obviously looking like a pretty stacked class....I feel a team like the Jazz are going to go all in on tanking this year and next year and try and add 2 legit stars.....Which if they are successful they could lap alot of teams...

As for Raptors i just hope we have lotto luck on our sides because the ceiling of this team is first round exit/Play in team.....Don't think Barnes is a franchise player and the rest of the roster is just mid....Ingram is interesting but hes never lead a team to success ever...

To be fair to Ingram, due to injuries (his own and others), youth/inexperienced teammates, and unbalanced/poorly constructed rosters, he’s never really had a good team to lead either.

I’m super excited about next year. Not ready to place any absolutes on their ceiling when it’s not a finished product. Between young guys continuing to get better, owning all their draft picks moving forward minus 2031 2nd, and having tradeable contracts, possibilities are endless depending on the opportunities that arise.

I don't that's the ceiling at all. The ceiling is probably the Lowry/ Demar lead Raptors.

If healthy & they add some.good veteran depth, I think this team will eventually be top 3 in the east.

To be fair, the Raptors next year can also be playing a lot of young players, and so far also being an unbalanced / poorly construct team that is not built for Ingram (eg. our starting PF may not space the floor until proven).

I am excited for next year, but do not have high expectation. This upcoming pick is critical.

You could be correct if Ingram takes a leap and also stays healthy for at least 65-75 games.....While also Barnes actually becoming a franchise player....We will not be top 3 if them 2 things do not happen and for me i believe it will not happen...I like some of the young talent we added but the top end talent for us is still meh to me and top end talent wins in the league...Depth can only take you so far....
