Anyone else notice that Battle is looking trimmed down and moving his feet laterally on defense?!?!?! Coaching really works. If he can get his defense up to average he'll be insanely useful and at least and MLE level rotation player on a championship team.
Why would Ochai be the odd man out? He's a low USG guy that can defend and shoot the 3, basically the perfect complimentary player to guys like Ingram, RJ, IQ and Scottie who need the ball in their hands more. His market is already set too if he wants to sign an extension, he's likely getting the same contract Okoro did who had a nearly identical season last year. You're looking at 3 years 33 million range, which is perfectly acceptable for a rotation player on a decent team.
People have to accept that starting next season, we are trying to get to the top of the east again. You don't just toss.away useful 3+D players they are essential to winning. From now on we have to shift our focus to "which players are going to help this team win".
Exactly lol as much as I love Battle the man should not be in our regular rotation if a top 6 seed is our objective. He’s a perfect 3rd stringer if someone goes down but right now there is no way I move Agbagi or tbh I don’t move any of our wings this summer unless we draft another guard/wing. We have 2 picks that will likely be used on Bigs.
Jak/Maluach/ORob/Chomche**
Barnes/Mogbo/Toppin
BI3/Agbagi/Battle
RJB/Dick/Walter/Lawson or Rhoden**
IQ/Shead/Walter/undrafter pg**
**=2way
Walter, Dick, Agbaji dual it out whoever sinks gets sacrificed mid season. Or there will likely always be an injury or 2 anyways. Battle and Mogbo likely only play in certain situations as RJ will get min at the 3 and BI at the 4.
