PG: Nets Drubbed. Thibs Detractors in Shambles

I wouldn't call it boring, but it's crazy how a 51 win season seemed to have so many disappointments. Partly because of higher expectations and partly because the style of play wasn't pleasing

Partly because we went 0-14 vs. the elite teams like Cavs, Cs, OKC, LA teams, and 24-0 against Bullets, 76ers, Raptors, Nets, Heat, Suns, Blazers, Pels ... we almost swept the bobcats. So anyone who has 2 neurons in their brain that can successfully fire will realize it's yet another fake Thibs masterpiece. Up there on his mantle like the fake Covid regular season where he won Coach of the Year.

I'm going to assume we're going to extend Mikal this off-season.

I do think we'll monitor the Giannis situation and I'd say there's a 50-50 chance he asks out and that we're one of the teams on the list. If MIL wants to remain competitive, then KAT is an option there, but if they want to rebuild then they'll knock on the OKC/HOU doors.

Could we see KAT flipped to New Orleans for a package of Zion and Herb Jones (or Tre Murphy)?

What if Minny wants KAT back and offers us an extended Randle, Divo and a draft pick?

The safe bet is that we stand pat, replace Thibs with Hurley/Bryant/Malone/Vogel, and add depth via the Tax MLE and see what one year of familiarity and a new voice can bring... see CLE.

I don't want Zion or Randle. I don't think Minny can take his contract back. Isn't Randle an UFA this offseason? OKC doesn't need him since they have Hartenstein and Houston has Sengun.

I don't want Zion or Randle. I don't think Minny can take his contract back. Isn't Randle an UFA this offseason? OKC doesn't need him since they have Hartenstein and Houston has Sengun.

I meant OKC/HOU could get Giannis if they go pick/youth heavy in a trade and if MIL wants to go into rebuild mode rather than re-tool mode (via KAT).

The good thing is even of Hart continues to be Landry Fields and Bridges shoots like MKG, we still have Shamet and McBride to put 5 three point threats on the court at the same time

The best analogy I can come up with is this: Imagine you take a huge huge loan, a borderline crazy loan which you have to pay off many many years into the future to build that house you imagine...after a couple month you start to see the construction is not looking anything what you imagined it to be...and you still have that huge financial obligation for a result much less pleasing than you wanted.

To me I would have been much more chill about this whole thing and the current situation if we had our 2029 and 2031 FRPs.

I can't imagine Thibs of all coaches making a drastic change like that starting in the playoffs
