I did not expect Wolves vs Grizzlies to look like this.
And oh boy Memphis team is frustrating to watch.
Nothing in this game made sense for them. Wolves have Gobert, Gobert hates defending perimeter. But no, you stick with Edey, who spent 30 min with 4 shots taken, 0 assists, who allows Gobert to camp below rim and act as rim protector because he has virtually zero reasons to ever leave restricted area, and in same time you gain nothing from Edey because you don't look to find him.
Matter of fact you don't even protect him on defensive end, rather allow Julius Randle to burn him on isos where Edey can't move feet fast enough.
Jaren Jackson, 6'10, 250. 37 min. 1 rebound. Gtfo. And that's a guy who thinks he should be DPOY.
Watching Morant & Edey pick&roll was travesty within travesty of a game. Either one, or both don't grasp what's the point of pick&roll. Morant goes right, shifts to his left, in near every set, Edey neither attacks rim nor is ready to set another screen, rather just distracts Morant from bursting.
Oh hell with it, i can show it

This is start of screen, as contact is set, Morant rejects screen and shifts to his right. This is probably good decision because if he goes to his right, Gobert will have to switch on him, as Edey cuts to a rim on massive miss match ? Right.
Oh well.

Edey needs ages to move, allowing Gobert to adjust, allowing DD to recover. Neither have to guard Edey because guy literally didn't move for past 2 seconds.
And this is where drafting this massive, massive guys is problematic. For every Victor there is Edey, who killed college hoops but simply is too slow for nba. It's not like guy is not skilled. He is. But it is very hard to use him against good teams. Sure, he will kill Duren-less Pistons or G league Hornets team, but last night, when their season was on the line, watching him for 30 min was pure pain.
