We had some recent candidates become free, but it’s less about name value and more about what coach fits this personnel. Not sure if either Jenkins or Malone can best maximize their roster.
This is the problem with the fire Thibs bandwagon. Especially given that our depth should be better next season, minimizing the need for Thibs to go full Thibs.
He’s a top 10 guy who the locker room loves, so unless we can get a top 5 guy who would fit even better, are we actually improving or just making a change to make a change?
Not making the conference finals during Thibs tenure at the Knicks is a fair criticism of him, although to be fair, he cannot be blamed for last season's second round exit due to an extremely rotten luck of injuries to the Knicks.
Part of the Knicks problem is other East teams (aside from the Cavs) are getting better and the Knicks still seem to be in bit of a holding pattern with their coach and roster.
If you bomb out in the first round, I am pretty sure Thibs will be fired
Guess we'll have to see how the playoffs shake out, things are coming together nicely for us
