if you told me this would have happened before the draft started i would have been fine with it. the concern was the compensation that we'd have to give up to get back into the 1st but what we gave up was more than reasonable.
i just didn't expect shedeur to be here who in my opinion is a much better QB and that's what i'm getting hung up on
All that is fair. Can't blame you. I know people that like Sanders better and can't blame them. I know people that like Milroe better and can't blame them.
However I kinda think Dart was going earlier (lot of rumors at some point to the Saints I didn't think we were able to get back in the 1st far enough. I also don't love that Kiffen schemed him so much in that offense (but that also isn't a knock on Dart that is more the unknown when he doesn't have that safety net can he do it).
But you can see why Daboll likes him. He lead CFB in completions behond 15 yards. Led class in completion rate on 5-20 yards. Led the draft class is scramble yards per drop back. And he was great in play action and McShay said he graded as the best college QB in this class vs pressure. All those are interesting things to bank on.
He has good mobility (obviously not even close to Milroe's level) but he is also a far better mobility than Sanders and even more than Cam Ward. I think Daboll values that and its a nice skill set to have in todays NFL to have that scramble ability.
He certainly has some things to clean up...but we basically can **** him a year and he's on 21 years old with a lot of college starts under his belt.
I'm not a good enough evaluator of the QB position to really know. But at this point the reason you hired daboll was his ability to develop and work with QB's...I think you have to get him the one he likes best, no?
i agree with you that we should draft the guy that daboll wants, i get it, i'm just disappointed. he better be good is all i'm saying
