If we Advance to the ECF does it make us better?
Or does a quality Knicks team just exist in a time when there’s a buzz saw in the East ?

Then that’s even more reason to wait for someone like Giannis before we give up all our picks

Randle is playing fine. Still doing his usual bad stuff. Nothing to write home about. Their team is clicking a little and the Lakers are in rough shape.

If Luka didn’t have the runs, we might be talking about the bad turnover Julius had to lose it.

Relax a little.

The bar is high for KAT and low for Randle. He makes a few threes and you guys are swooning lolz.

We miss Donte more. KAT has played some tough defense too. And his 3 ball can actually be used in a big series. Julius ain’t winning anything.

He was 6-13 (1-4) and everybody is singing his praises lol. He was fine — his defense wasn’t bad either.

I am not taking a lap but want to troll!

But I don’t want the lap — I’m sick of the Knicks as much as you but I always root for success (as you do)

One idea when making trades is that you can always re-use the value in different ways including subsequent trades if things don't exactly work out.

It's why the pushback against the Donovan Mitchell trade in late August never made sense to me. They could've always traded either Brunson or Mitchell if the backcourt didn't work (I think it absolutely could have). They would have likely gotten just as much value in return. In fact, the value of that Knicks package has declined since the trade, while Donovan's profile has risen.

The KAT trade was a fair deal. Sure, you may not like KAT or whatever, but he's an All-NBA center this year, and we didn't lose any blue-chip asset.

The problem was the Mikal trade because we'll never recoup the value from the deal. It was a massive overpay from the start and we lost a ton of value in that trade. Lost value that we can't translate into wins or use in future trades.

We can't overlook how much of this value we lost by losing Hartenstein and (for a time) Mitch. The summer was an uphill climb after that to even just reach the level from last year again. That, more than anything, warranted a more cautious approach. I think the KAT deal was reasonable. The Mikal trade on the other hand was reckless.

Not seeing this Antet is so elite stuff either

Dude shot 62% from the line and hasn’t shot over 29.9% from 3 in four years

No sure bet or anything. He’ll be 31 next Dec

everything you say is fair. even if the knicks would have had to take a slight step back and end up 6th in the conference or whatever for a year, the future is more important than just this season. especially when the post season results might be exactly the same. losing in the 2nd round.

The NYK has the heaviest jerseys in the league, trust me, a lot of pressure to meet expectations in the playoffs. The best chance that Randle had was last year but let’s move on.
I will only cherish the wins and ignore everything else, because that's the only way to survive as a Knicks fan.

Grass is always greener …

Now you guys want Randle and Antet even though we can’t shoot that much already

I’m pretty happy with KAT. The only game we didn’t win was when he took 11 shots … so in a way he’s got a pretty unblemished record in NY and he’s been a great team player, hard worker

Randle is doing okay now though — good for him. So I guess he has an unblemished record as a Wolve

I’d like to see more and also he’s still doing his usual … to me you’d have to be nuts to sign him to his next contract, which is maybe a factor in why he’s playing better in the playoffs

He’s also a tertiary option whereas we used him as a featured guy

Not saying we didn’t make a mistake but as some food for thought … you keep the picks for Mikal and sacrifice some of Brunson’s prime, okay

Then the Bucks trade Antet for the picks and … Mitch?

KAT
Antet
OG
Hart
Brunson

Or

Antet
Randle
OG
Donte
Brunson

First team is v light on shooting — you’d need a lot of slashing from JB to Antet or smthg for it to work … not even sure it works defensively

Second team still doesn’t feel like a title team

You guys are also missing that the Bucks will probably send him where he wants to go if he wants to go (big if) and that won’t be a Nets team without help

And again 60% FT shooter, hasn’t shot over 30% from 3 in four years and is gonna be 31

He puts up huge stats but so does KAT right?

Return to New York Knicks
