Nico won't make another deal with Lakers, it would be laughable to give someone for a player he could have gotten in Luka's trade for free. Secondly, D wins championship, not exactly AR's forte. Thirdly, AR is white.
I'm very sceptical about KD wanting to come in Mavs' mess.
You’re probably right. I just know that Luka wants a legit lob threat and he’s very fond of Gafford.
As for KD, he’s friends with several people in the Mavs organization (team and front office). Of course that doesn’t mean he’ll want to play in this mess, it just makes some level of sense that he would. Of course that also doesn’t mean that the Mavs would have the best offer.
KD is well aware that next year is lost because of Kyrie's injury. Kyrie might come back in 2026 but he will be normal Kyrie only in 26/27 season.
Mavs should be tanking next season for the last good pick for a long time.
I can guarantee you they won’t be tanking next season. They (the players and coaches) didn’t even tank this season when they had every excuse to. With the ownership trying to get a new arena there is no way they want to tank either.
Nico and the ownership clearly have no f-ing clue what they’re doing. To regain favor with the fanbase and for the betterment for the future of the organization I agree they should tank. Trade AD, Kyrie, and anyone else you can for picks (especially for their own picks they already gave away). Nico and the ownership clearly do not give a crap about the fans though and have zero clue how to build a team.
Nico is going to continue to collect “his guys” which are the older generation of injury prone “stars” and they will continue to tells the fans they Nico is doing a great job, even though clearly he’s not.
Then once they fail to secure the votes for the new arena, they will sell the team and Nico will finally be fired. Then and only then will the fans get our team back.
