Didn't say anything about the role players. Even though I like JJJ and he isn't making much money anyway. But I don't want OLD players. KD has been failing with better teammates on other teams already. It won't be any different here. I want them to take a direction that will give me something to look forward to for the long term. With KD, if everything goes right, maybe the Heat are no longer a play in team. But will still get stomped no later than round 2 and maybe even still in round 1. Then in a year or two when he's broken or done Heat will be in the same spot again. Looking for a direction and wondering why the last two seasons were wasted on old guys.
We had 37 year old Tucker and 36 year old Kyle Lowry and got the first seed and made it to the finals. We have good players that need a star glue player. Give them that opportunity for the next few years
Tucker and Lowry replaced Dragic and Iggy on team that had its title hopeful core in Butler, Oladipo, Bam and Herro/Duncan. This current roster still trying to complete its core.
As of right now the core is just Herro, Bam and Wiggins. So far Wiggins has been a flop.
There is question marks that needs to be answered. Can Ware, Jovic or Jaquez or maybe Larrson be a core player? I think that is still to be determined. These guys only had 1 to 2 years of playing time experience.
