Do you guys have the depth to do that? What would your rotation look like with no Brown or Hauser (with or without KP)? Hopefully he's good to go moving forward, because whether we win or lose I want to see what this team looks like at its best against the best.
Rookie Baylor Schierman is worth a punt imo.

Ahh DOOGIE Hauser, another Celtic that had the Knicks as a joke this series...That rookie isn't getting any burn this series, may be a rotational player when they ship the 7 foot pansy though

Every stat and nearly every game suggested that, after losing 4 in the regular season and Boston having better players and stats in pretty much everything, did you expect him to pick the Knicks in 4-5?
Good assessment:

At this point, we should know that the regular season is not the postseason...though the first two games went very differently from the latter two...and who has the better players is very much debatable

Check last playoffs. Same thing happened. Their shooting only gets worse as the playoffs continue. In every series of the playoffs they shot worse than the series prior.
They just lucked out playing against injured teams and the pacers/Mavs. Neither of which should’ve been in the positions they were in.

At this point I think you’re mistaking personal biases with logic, there’s absolutely nothing suggesting the Knicks have the better team or has been the better team in the past I’d say 3-4 years.

The Celtics are the better team. A tough Game 1 win doesn't change that imo.
The Knicks are like Rocky when they opened up Drago with a hook. We'll see if they end up pulling off the upset.
In either case, if the Knicks can push this to 6 or 7, I would say that's admirable. And if they win the series, that's remarkable.

Who has the better team and better players are different conversations. You've clearly been the better team this season, but you've also had years to develop chemistry & figure out what works with this core, building up your depth around them & tweaking around the edges of the rotation. Our group not only has yet to have a training camp together, but its defensive anchor just got into game shape a month or so ago.
And against an exceptional team like yours, that lack of chemistry...especially defensively...can be a killer. In particular earlier in the season and if the coach of the less blooded-in underdog is keeping things basic for the regular season, before starting to get more aggressive with his defensive personnel for the postseason; as we've seen Thibs do with Anunoby & Bridges.
Plus, your roster being better on the whole doesn't mean we don't have our advantages. Like we have the best crunchtime creator in this series, and the defenders we have to throw at your ace match up better than the defenders you have to throw at ours. Similarly, when he's cooking, Towns is a weapon you guys just don't have because KP can't create for himself like Karl can, and he's just too soft around the rim.
Of course Karl can't protect the rim like KP, Jrue is a more credible shooter than Hart, Pritchard is having a way better season than McBride off the bench, Brunson is the biggest defensive weakness in either starting 5, etc...but like I said, your roster being better on the whole wouldn't mean we didn't have some advantages and you being the better team for the past however many years (including this one) doesn't necessarily mean you've got the better players or roster on the whole.
Not even getting into the Form vs Class question. As things are coming together for us to play our best basketball right now...finally got our top 7 healthy on the eve of the postseason; we've had the season for most of the guys to gel; OG & Bridges really stepped up when Brunson went down and have been playing their best basketball since, with OG leveling up as a ballhandler / self-creator; Towns started to figure out how to kill teams even when they stick a big wing on him & let their rim protector help on his drives; Thibs starting to get a lot more creative with our defensive schemes than he was in the regular season
...so even if one does think you outclass us across the board, we could beat you just on form.

the starting 5 is pretty even to be fair. i think most reasonable fans would agree.
tatum and brown are a tad better than brunson, KAT.
and OG, Mikal, josh are a tad better or at least even with KP, white and jrue. i think its a pretty objective take.
my subjective take honestly is that brunson is the best player in the series. i know, i know... defense, versatility, etc. goes to tatum. but i think the way brunson closes games and the type of leader he is puts him ahead of tatum, if you ask me. i want brunson over tatum on my team at least.
to me its brunson, tatum, brown then kat. And OG is pretty close to KAT. And i know most wont agree with it, but thats fine. i firmly believe brunsons intangibles are by far the best and put him atop the list.
and now considering that houser, KP and brown are banged up/ill/injured i think its definitley a debate to be had, which team has more talent. The benefit the celtics have is, that they have won a ring together, played together for much longer and they execute better.
and yes you are definitley correct, the last couple years boston clearly had the better roster. but i think this year we are right up there, in terrms of talent at least. And this is the 1st year they play together. the celtics are not better because they have the better roster, the celtics are better because they execute way better on offense and thats coaching, experience and chemistry aswell.
im bout dat action boss

Then it will be 1-4 and Knicks fans will be back to blaming Thibs and Mikal for this world disaster

I expect Boston to throw their best punch in this one. If that isn't enough for them to blow us out again, I'm going to start feeling really good about our chances of pulling this thing off. But I'm going into this one prepared to lose in convincing fashion, so they can reclaim some pride before this thing heads to the Garden and we can give them our best punch.
