AD goes to the Lakers, then New Orleans gets the #1 pick
Luka is traded to the Lakers, then the Mavs get the #1 pick

So that gives us the opportunity to do something very funny with Bam to get the #1 pick lol. The Lakers need an athletic defensive center lol.

Cavs won the lottery in 2003 to get lebron

They won the lottery again the season after lebron left them to get kyrie irving..

They won it again on lebrons free agency when he was going back to cleveland which they used to trade for kevin love

And now this bs with luka/nico drama lands them cooper flagg.

Its apparent what theyre doing, we need to do away with the lottery, period.

No way bro! The league is clean. They never put their fingers on the scale to serve their interests or allow actors with power to do the same.

This all "collective" decision making is a joke, there's no one accountable for anything and no clear vision for anything.

Every team has down years, but you can't have consecutive bad years and still have no clear path to get better or a plan to dramatically improve down the line.

When did we became the treadmilling Hawks?!

After Bron left, they had been trying to patch a sinking ship ever since, 10y of mid without a proper reset and they'll continue, the Jimmy fluke years done their damage

I am sorry you have only experienced the finals 7 times in the last 20 years, and only have advanced to the ECF finals 9 times

Miami has gone through stretches like this before, every single time we bounce back, and create a new iteration of Heat basketball. We have a great organization with structure, and standards, in a market players want to be in. It is simple a matter of when not if we are back on top again. Everybody needs to relax. We just lost our franchise player in the middle of the season in an extremely messy way. This season was going to be what it was.

Some of you probably wanted us to max extend Butler, THAT is how you actually end up in the hell you guys speak of.

Here we are with a core of pretty decent players, 3 tradeable firsts, and an conference that has been blown wide open. Give it sometime. We will be back soon.

And just like that.... the east is wide open again.

Meh, not really lol.

Giannis hasn't made it out the first round since 2022 lmao - he was never really a problem in the East.

Flagg on Charlotte/Washington/(any bottom feeder east team) doesn't make them anywhere close to a contender during his first several years.

Tatum or not - Pacers and Knicks are legit contenders, and Cleveland defeated us by an average margin of 30ppg (and they're down 3-1 to the Pacers). There's not one powerhouse in the East, but theirs not really one in the West either (maybe besides OKC but they could also get bounced in the 2nd round).

The league has always wide open (expect for the KD Warriors years) due to the natural parity it has had. It's why we've had 6 different champions within the past 6 years.

Damn man, who **** in your corn flakes

2 finals appearances and 3 conference finals on that sinking ship after the best player of the last two decades left and our max contract hall of famer got literal blood clots, and had to end his career.

What you guys consider to be a dumpster fire would equate to the best run of over half the organizations in the league in their history.

Playoff Jimmy doesn’t exist without Bam, the cold hard truth must hurt some of you but it is what it is. He was nothing more than a Bam merchant making a living off Bam erasing the opposing teams best player and finding him on every single open back cut.

I thought Draymond was supposed to be an elite defender? He hasn’t done anything.

Both bigger guards that can play along side Herro. Tim Hardaway Jr would be a nice get as a backup to Herro.

I'm thinking of Tyus Jones as well. Maybe not ideal beside Herro, but he's shot the 3 at over 41% the last 2 years in a row and can dish it with 7 Assists and 1 TO in '23-'24 as a starter and 5 assists with 1 TO last year in Phoenix playing for the Vet min somehow.

I thought about Tyus but then backed off thinking about how bad defensively our backcourt would be with Herro. He was getting benched in Phoenix because of how bad his defense was

Yeah with him it might have to be a reverse where Mitchell starts with Herro and Tyus comes off the bench lol.

Anybody still upset we traded Flagg for a record breaking playoff loss?

I''ve always known Heat would fall off big without Jimmy Butler. Wiggins was not going to cut it. Kevin Durant is not going to save the Heat either. Heat next best vet player would've been Kawhi Leonard or heat going to have to wait a long time to develop the right player.

Jimmy’s downfall has helped ease the pain.

He was a DNP last night.

In hindsight we will look at his success with us vs his other teams.

I was never on board with helping him launch his coffee empire.

Yeah! They can hang all these almost banners now!
The bubble and 23 run were as fluky as it gets, there was no method behind it, just luck of the draw and the right matchups.
Even mid teams have good runs sometimes but 5th or 8th seeds NEVER win, it's just a historic fact and that is what they have been for last 10 years.
The definition of a mid treadmill team.

Bron left the Cavs too for basically nothing, they reset and he came back to a team which had resources and assets.
They went on to go to 4 straight finals.

Bron left them again for nothing, they reset and are elite again!

Stop being blind, proper resets worked for many organizations willing to do it properly, doesn't even have to be a tank, just a proper reset, which clears cap space, brings all your young players on the same timeline and accumulates assets.
