They're a horrible fit at SF/PF but theyd be great at C/PF. You just need to get an above average bacup C for particular matchups but we could have our very own "death lineup"

I’m not sure why people are so insistent on hanging onto Barnes. If the right deal comes along you trade him. You don’t need Giannis and pooor man’s Giannis on the same team. Also If Barnes is that good and has that much value you also don’t need to include much with him to get Giannis instead of gutting half the team.

When we first traded for Barrett and quickley, that lineup with Barnes, siakam quickley Barrett looked pretty damn good. Now imagine you replaced Barnes with Giannis and have Ingram instead of siakam. That’s a crazy lineup with versatility and scoring. Pretty unstoppable.

I honestly wish we gave the IQ/RJ/Barnes/Siakam/Poeltl lineup more runway. We literally wasted 2 seasons only to get the 9th pick in this draft lol.

Again we can still do it. Just trade Barnes and dick and the 9th for Giannis.

Quickley/barrett/ingram/giannis/poeltl.

Didn't Giannis live with Masai's family in his youth or something? I'd say we win the relationship game of attracting him as a player though there are obvious advantages to going elsewhere; competitiveness, environment, money but hey at least we're leading in one category. Maybe we'll make the shortlist of Giannis' preferred destinations and muster out a package Milwaukee prefers over the others on the shortlist. It'd gut our team a bit but Giannis is worth it, and I still trust Masai so assuming 3-4 years of Giannis playing here at a high level, I think we can create a contendor in that timeframe.

Ya that would be the on steroids version with some decent bench depth too, sign me up.

Need Shams to come out with a Giannis report before we get too carried away lol

I think depends how much we give.

If it's Barnes, the 9th pick and a couple future 1sts, it's not too bad because at least Giannis will have some good young players around him with upside.

That's what it'd have to be. Idk why so many people are doing trade scenarios where Barnes is still on the team. None of those are viable.

IQ
Barrett
Ingram
Giannis
Poeltl

Is the makings of a good lineup. Would probably want more of a 3+D wing than either Barrett or Ingram though.

Bucks are interesting. If they were to trade him to us it would be a similar situation to us trading OG to the knicks in that they would priortize talent over a bundle of picks. Being a small market team and not controlling their own picks they have zero incentive to do a proper rebuild.

With that in mind, the only trades with us would be structured around Scottie. Scottie makes roughly 15 million less. So they you have to start adding lots of pieces. Or another big chunk of salary. That means Quickley or RJ. If I'm the Bucks I'm demanding Quickley, and if I'm the raps I'm trying to make it RJ.

Both trades work if we trade for Giannis and Pat C.

So it is actually a pretty easy deal to structure. Barnes plus one of Quickley/RJ 9th pick and future draft picks. (maybe 2-3 future picks and swaps?)

Not as good a deal as the spurs, rockets, thunder could give, but I'm not sure any of those teams are going to offer the full kitchen sink to get it done...
Brooklyn can beat our offer as well.

So we in the game, but don't start measuring Giannis jerseys. Some weird **** will have to happen for us to be a real option. First thing is Bucks have to agree to trading him to someone in the east.... Then we actually have a shot.

That's a better deal than any other team can give imo.

You get a relatively young 20ppg+ guy in Barrett. You get a former ROTY who you can build around in Barnes (I don't think he's actually this player but he's perceived that way by some), and a top 10 people in a strong draft?

I'd do it too for us

If they ask for one of our young untouchable future stars Shead or JaKobe as the final piece I would say no

You hope you can sell Scottie to the Bucks that he will be a multi All-Star. I don't think we have the best package, but Scottie, RJ, and some young assets is a pretty competitive offer IMO.

it would be very difficult to upgrade the roster just from a contract pov

But if I am Giannis, staying in the East gets you a better chance of making the Finals and maybe the West beats up on one another along the way.

Will be interesting

Cleveland is a 2nd apron team and can only do 1 for 1 trades with matching salary.

Am I wrong to think they can sneak under the apron by trading Okoro to some team with MLE space? Maybe dump Dean Wade's final year the same way if you also need to the same way.

This isn't a free agent negotiation, they don't need to use specific teams to have any type of bidding war for someone of Giannis' level lol

You are missing Dick, Mogbo, and an easy re-sign of needed with Boucher.

Quickley -Shead
Ochai - Jakobe
Ingram - Dick/battle
Giannis - Mogbo
Jakob - Boucher

Not the greatest bench in the world, but gives those rookies who fought hard this year to shone.

Plus easy to sign some vets to play with Giannis and Ingram.

Been thinking about this. Silver seems to want to hit big numbers for Amazon next year. All big population teams need to pull viewership so its possible in a conspiracy theory. Toronto can do their share with a big name.

Canadian ratings mean nothing to NBC or ESPN. But do they matter to Amazon?

I genuinely believe Toronto would be one of the team Giannis requests a trade to.
