ORL sends: Jalen Suggs, #25
CLE sends: Darius Garland
Trade #2...
ORL sends: Jonathan Isaac, Goga Bitadze, Jett Howard
BOS sends: Kristaps Porzingis, Sam Hauser
Trade #3...
ORL sends: Cole Anthony, #16
BRK sends: DeAngelo Russell (SnT $12m x 2 + 1TO), #19
Decline options on Moe Wagner, Cory Joseph, Caleb Houstan, Gary Harris
ORL selects Rasheer Fleming at #19
Porzingis, WCJ, Raynaud (or most ready big C at #46)
Paolo, WCJ, Fleming
Franz, Tds, Hauser
KCP, AB, Hauser
Garland, DLo
*Alternative to Trade # 3 is to keep #16 pick and trade Cole and srps to MIL for Portis and then draft BPA and try to sign CP3 as an inexpensive UFA
*If Porzingis is healthy (maybe our depth allows us to rest him a bit for the big moments), he's a monster and a big fan of Mose. DLo, on a make-good deal has unlimited scoring potential and is a really nice fit next to AB. Garland, Hauser, KP, DLo ALL add elite 3pt shooting and more.
KP's health is a risk but, imo, so are Isaac's and Suggs...but KP has only one remaining year. At this point in his career, and considering his relationship with Mose, perhaps he elects to extend on a reasonable deal if it's working for both (I think it would be an amazing fit if he's healthy).
Possibly, the most troubling thing about this trade is that I really think un-swole Isaac is going to have a really strong year next year, just as his salary plummets to $15m. I find it very easy to imagine him being a BIG factor in BOS when Tatum returns in 26-27. They're just such a smart team and his skill set is so unique - if he's just hits his threes, he's a massive playoff game-changer, imo. They could spend the year resting and integrating the new guys and deciding what the longer-term vision is for C, while still competing to whatever degree they choose (or maybe tank by resting Brown's knee, etc)
Guards: Garland/KCP/AB
Forwards: Paolo/Franz/Hauser
Bigs: Porzingis/WCJ
9/10: Russell/Fleming
The focus on getting another pointguard with trade three doesn't align with the AB development path as a point guard.
Three max contracts and Porzingis seems like financial suicide.
It's definitely a nice re-tool though.
Just don't see them giving up on suggs unless it felt like a slam dunk.
Yes.... CoJo definitely Helped in going down till the end of the season. Can Suggs provide the same thing with superior defense and volume 3 point shooting. I don't see why not.
With Franz and Paolo established as the primary scorers.... Suggs becomes a great option as a secondary/tertiary ball handler....and willing scorer.
With KCPs turnaround after the break.... i would love to see what the vision of that starting lineup would look like.
If we can turn Cole anthony and something else for Collin Sexton.... and get an extension in the Mid 20's or so.... i think that is the route that they would go.
KCP.... will eventually be replaced by a more confident and grown black.
