Saniya Rivers' mom passed away suddenly on April 30, of congestive heart failure, at the age of 47. She was with Saniya at the draft just a couple of weeks before that.

Evidently she was known to have had a heart condition, but her death was unexpected. She took a bad turn, was admitted to the hospital, and passed away two days later.
Just because it happened to you, doesn't make it interesting.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

Yesterday I was lying; today I'm telling the truth.

The league put out a statement saying they would investigate. I've looked into this some more, and it sounds to me there were no racial slurs. I've seen numerous video clips and statements from people in the arena, and they said there were no racial slurs.

Some say the accusation involves a piece of audio that sounds like a dolphin that was played during Reese's free throw attempts. It is actually a clip of a YouTuber laughing, which has also been played at NBA games. The accusation I've heard that this was a clip of a monkey screeching, and that is the supposed racial content. But that's not at all what it is. Angel Reese seems like a drama queen, she seems just the sort of person who would make a false racial accusation. Wouldn't surprise me a bit.

I recall an incident several years ago, I think it was an NBA game, a player accused a fan of shouting a racial slur, and the fan was ejected. Only thing is, the incident was on video, and he didn't make a racial slur, he was yelling something else entirely.

Sure, there are always racists, but anyone who yells out a racial slur during a game takes a high risk of getting ejected if someone hears him. I suspect this particular incident is nothing but BS. If Indiana is such an unsafe, terrible place to play, why aren't we hearing similar complaints about the fans in Pacer games?

Angel Reese is not going to be a popular player in Indiana, because of her behavior last year. Mainly the incident where Chennedy Clark shoved Caitlin off the ball, and Angel Reese jumped up off the bench and cheered. She also kept making statements about being on the same level as Caitlin, and that she was just as responsible as her for the increased fans in the arenas. So no, she's not going to be popular here in Indiana. I've heard some say they consider the cheering when she missed her free throws as a racist act. No, that's not racist. Fans boo the other team, there's nothing wrong with that. If someone does yell racial slurs, that is obviously wrong, and they should be dealt with as individuals. Don't paint the entire Fever fandom as unsafe and racist.

Good because current ownership is way too cheap with the facilities, like the team having to share a court with a birthday party during the playoffs is just downright disgraceful

But I just don't want them to move to like, Boston or something, that'd kill me

I want them to sell to someone who'll keep them in CT, preferably move them to Hartford (arena there goes up to 17k, so not quite NBA level but not that far off compared to Mohegan at 10k), Uncasville is kind of out of the way, too, but mostly because I live 15 minutes from Hartford and 50 from Mohegan

Really I just don't want them to move to Boston.

Ah, I didn't know that

That sucks, she should take all the time she needs.

They added Jewel Loyd in a 3 team deal (Sparks sent the #2 pick and Li Yueru to Seattle).
So,they got a similar caliber player.

I didn't like the trade for the Aces. I was higher on the #2 pick than everybody else. But even if they wanted to trade for a veteran, a big would have made more sense. A healthy Jackie and Chelsea is a fantastic backcourt. If you are going to lock up a lot of money in a player, a big to play alongside A'ja would have made more sense, imo

If that wasn't available, even some cap space might have been better. Depth is a problem for Vegas. I think going from a Big 4 to a Big 3 and the #2 pick (and the added cap space for depth) might have been a better route.

Sparks wanted Plum badly. They gave up Li Yueru and the #2 pick to do it.
Aces could have gotten that. So, they could have had 1 of Malonga/Kiki/Citron, Yueru, and the cap space to keep TIp Hayes (or Alysha Clark).

Loyd is fine, but I think I'd have rather had that package. Especially with Loyd aging coming off a bad year.

For the sake of you and the rest of the fans, I hope that happens.

Mohegan was the perfect buyer in 2003. Orlando owner didn't want the Miracle at all and Mohegan saved the franchise.

Obviously, things are a little different than in 2003, but I hope a happy medium in Hartford can be found.

17k is a good medium. I would hope that the group that is buying the team keeps them in CT.

Is that the arena that the Whalers used to play in?

This is horrible. I feel for her and her family. 47 is way too young

Only one game tonight, Storm vs Wings at 8pm EST on NBATV.

I didn't see the Lynx vs Wings game. Some fans were saying that Dallas looked disjointed, but who doesn't the Lynx make look like that?

Very very interested to see Paige vs Skylar. You know Skylar is going to try to go at Paige from opening tip til the final buzzer so this should be must watch.

Should be a good one. Hopefully, the Storm can bounce back.
Bad as it was for Sky fans this weekend, Storm fans are on tilt just as bad.
I think it was one road game after a short training camp, and more importantly, the Mercury are going to be very good with AT and Sabally.

But the defense looked good.Hopefully, the offense is better tonight (even if there's probably not a world where it's ever great).

Wings looked solid. About as good as you can expect against the Lynx at this point. They seemed like they wanted to go small, which is good. Don't know if that will lead to more wins, but it'll at least make them more fun to watch until they can get around to fixing the frontcourt next year.

Interesting to see Dallas starting Maddy and NaLyssa. We'll see if it works, and I like trying it.

Seattle blitzing ball screens early, as they do. They've got the size and speed to do it.

I hope Paige and Dallas handle it fairly well, but I hope Seattle takes care of business.

Wemby at the game supporting Dallas instead of his country mates Gabby and Dominique. Not sure how to feel about that.

Love what we're seeing from Dallas, but the veteran Storm have to settle in and take this thing over.

Yeah, but now it’s the Wolf Pack (Rangers AHL team) mostly. I must’ve gone to dozens of games there as a kid

First basketball arena I ever went to too, my grandmother took me to a UConn women’s game. I can’t remember anything about the game cause we were all the way up at the top and all I could think about was how high it was

It’s also great because nobody lives in Hartford anymore, so traffic isn’t a huge issue after 5 lol.
