Hopefully, Moody's role will be explicitly defined heading into training camp.

But for me, it comes down to the following:
- If JK is moved in free agency (S&T or unmatched RFA offer), keep Moody.
- If JK is retained on a contract extension or matched RFA offer, trade Moody.
- If JK plays for the QO (*real long shot*, less than the Mavs winning the #1 pick), keep both.

It's funny listening to Steve talk about JK and Moody on the TK pod yesterday. There's two ways to interpret it. If you take him at his word then it sounds very obvious he doesn't like JK's fit with this team and he loves Moody's fit. He really went to the mat for Moses to praise his improvements last season and downplay his struggle towards the end. It sounded like Kerr is excited to have Moody develop even more next season.

Now there's the other way to take Kerr's comments, which is that he's overselling Moody to make him look more attractive as a trade chip and tanking Kuminga's market value to make him cheaper for us to re-sign.

As a Moody true believer, I'd like to believe Kerr is being "sincere", but I can understand why people would be skeptical.

I believe Kerr. I said before and I still think that Moody, at 11.5, 12.5, and 13.5, will show out as one of the best value contracts in the league over the next 3 years. IMO, in 27-28, when the cap is close to $190M, that 13.5 will look like an impossible bargain.

I love that Moses is basically a plug and play at the 2, 3, or 4 that fits with anyone. Makes roster building much easier having someone that can fill multiple roles.

He’s just gotta get that thumb healed and have a really good training camp so he can play with confidence and joy more consistently. Thats been his main obstacle he’s dealt with during his rookie contract… getting in his own head worrying about the outcome too much and getting timid.

Still dont get why Kerr went away from Steph, Podz, Moody, Jimmy, Dray…. they had a +18 rating in 210 minutes in the regular season. Only 39 minutes in the playoffs with a -1 net rating and once Jimmy hurt his back-side Kerr never went back to it.

Maybe that coincided with his injury. What's weird is that for everyone else Celebrini treats them with kid gloves. So did they actually not know Moody was dealing with this until after the season? Or did they know and they thought he could play through it? Was it an acute injury or did it get aggravated by repeated use? I wish we knew but given how "unimportant" Moody is, the Slaters of the world will never bother asking these questions.

Moody had other issues than his thumb.

Just not athletic or skilled enough when closed out. No ability to attack the closeouts. Thumb may affect the but he showed complete inability.

Hope he rehabs quickly so he can work on skills and physical development in the offseason -- hit the weight room.

I think moody is strong enough.i would say that he should work on hitting the 3 when he isn't wide open.

Good point. The timing of the thumb injury definitely could have been a factor.. and yes nobody will ask about it lol.
