and both at the same time.....playing with fire. like green arrow with a lighter under a crossing guard's arm who's duct taped in his basement.
I don't think anyone wants to see them play 24 mins each. But cycling them in and mixing and matching them to help the defense and keep guys fresh for the 4th shouldn't be a tall ask. OG and Mikal will still be out there anyway.
No team is truly 10 men deep. Even Indiana. There is always a talent drop off after your first 6 or 7 guys. But you still have to develop roles for the average guys in your rotation and not rely so heavily on your top 5. Tom historically sucks at that, so I don't really think letting them play instead of having 7 guys trying to keep up with the Pacers 11 man rotation is playing with fire at all. It’s common sense.
indy's bench is mostly a loser though statistically. they basically concede those minutes. so playing 7 guys more minutes with diminishing returns late or 11 guys when you're pretty sure you're gonna be bad when the end of that rotation is on the floor is probably a wash. but play wright 10 minutes or so. he'll play defense and won't take any shot he shouldn't.
