These boards have become polluted with the idea that rookies being invisible roster spots for 3 years is okay. Or that a lottery pick “tactically” placed in the G League for a year because he agreed to it was a master stroke, not a failed pick. Not hearing much support for that lately but the way some fans can rationalize, support and then disregard a few years later is a joke. Good players can contribute, in some form, right away. AB is doing, at this point, what he should have provided (at least) as a promising rookie…he will get even better, but, imo, the “starting PG” fantasy is delusional. Jett’s out of the league soon and AB is a decent rotation player like TdS. TdS was a significant contributor early as a rookie late frp…he will be better this year if he gets the minutes. There are plenty of rookies that play right away at the NBA level, including some on our team.

thats wild.. an 11th pick in the 2023 draft can't get minutes on a team who needs a scoring guard and had a lot of injuries.. yet not a bust.

Jett was the rare pick who was probably a bust before he even stepped on an NBA court. I mean the Jett thing has been discussed ad nauseam, but at this point I am just glad it doesn't look like we missed on any star or maybe even all-star. Though I would rather have the obvious candidates much more than Jett and many of them still probably carry 1st round value or close in a trade.

Don't blame people for being traumatized by Weltman's drafting after that pick though... IMO there is a natural balance to the world, Jett had to mega bust and TDS had to be average so our next pick can be an all-star. That is my cope at least

Whats your deal with royce? He is JAG.

Cheap vet 3&D that can really hit the 3 ball and phoenix needs a C (goga would be a great fit there)

Why would we help PHO just for a player who probably would fight minutes between KCP AB Goga and maybe our FRP?

he still might but maybe elsewhere...or, if ORL switched up their offensive sets or added a real PG...you never know - it could be a chemistry thing. I don't question that the guy can shoot. If I was another team making a bigger trade and his (basically expiring) deal was included for salary matching...I'd definitely give him a shot.

Guys, I can't say it enough. Even Tre Johnson's FLOOR would already a big impact in ORL's backcourt offense today. With ORL's defense and structure, Tre would be picking up the right habits while potentially being a top 2-3 scorer on 40+ 3P% and 90+ FT% as well as a potentially 4-5 APG guard too like in his last half-ish of the college season. In my eyes, he would effectively be Tyler Herro or baby-Steph Curry within 1-2 seasons.
