I'm going to withhold judgment if no other women come forward and no further evidence is presented.

Didn't that happen with the baseball player and it turned out to ALL be made up? I mean..it was just 2 with him but still. I don't know what to believe sometimes...but I'm going to stick with innocent until proven guilty with this stuff...though to be fair. Who knows if he’s guilty, and we’ll see how it plays out, but I can’t believe how many people who can never even fathom such a violation happening to them are so quick to judge and tell a victim - you shoulda done this, done that, why didn’t you do this…especially when it’s against someone with more power, more resources, more lawyers, more everything.

Again, this accuser could be full of it, but these same attitudes above make already violated victims afraid to step forward.

Even if she is trying to extort him, this kind of “stuff” happens a lot with Zion, more than most other NBA players. He’s just… messy. His off the court life is messy. And that alone, even if you are unjustly getting targeted, is enough for most teams to say “thanks but no thanks”.

At this point, I see Zion going the way of DeMarcus Cousins. He’ll probably bounce around to a few more spots whenever his time in NO is over, but probably on short min level deals.

Only good post in the entire thread. Men have killed themselves due to the fall out/impact of false allegations. Others have had their education, career or livelihoods destroyed.

Rape is a VERY serious allegation. Show me the proof and let's see a trial in court of law. Pursue it in criminal court too. The fact that someone can just come out and ruin someone's reputation without any due process or recourse if found to be fraudulent is ridiculous.

Unless you forgot to quote someone else, this logic doesn't check. Both posters said "why wait years to come out, that is what makes it suspect", you respond "this is why they don't come forward"... ok, that explains why some wouldn't come forward years later, but it says nothing about doing it immediately when the offense happens.

It's also a misandrist take that is common in our gynocentric society, where only the fallout for women is considered, but not the falsely accused men. Just look at cases like the Duke Lacrosse boys, those kids had their lives ruined over a false accusation, and when it was ruled false it wasn't blasted by the media nearly to the extent the circus of a trial was. There are people TO THIS DAY who cite that case as an example of "rape culture" or why you need to believe all women.

There's a lot of gray area in all of this, and anyone coming at it one sided, either trying to excuse men because "these things happen in bed", "they're liars", etc, or excusing women because "they were scared to come forward", "they should always be believed", is just seeking retribution against a single sex, instead of justice.
