I think we pay tax to keep him and I agree with that. However, I wouldn't rush to resign iJax and I'd hope the draft gives us the big you want to backup Myles.
But thats exactly what IJAX DOES
I think we need a bigger backup than iJax. Plus, I'm not sure when he will be ready to play again - not that I wouldn't love him to be able to dress in the finals.
I hear you,... I think Myles needs to work on his rebounding. Even with all things considered, he should rebound more than he does,... but,... I wouldn't trade Myles for just any big that can rebound. I mean the league leader in RPG this year is Doma?... LOL =]
Part of Myles struggles on the offensive boards come from where he plays on the floor. Playing mostly 5 out is going to mean he is farther from the basket, and less likely to be in position to work the offensive glass. He also isn't likely to be fast enough to get to those, longer, open floor rebounds. But, he plays there because it creates a better offensive matchup for the Pacers & allows Pascal to do what he does from the mid-post without Myles in the same area of the court, clogging up the middle, and often making it possible to cover them at the rim with 1 player allowing the other guys man to hedge the passing lanes. So, I can understand (a bit) of the struggles on the offensive end. But still agree with you,... the rebounding anticipation is not as good as I would like to see.
I wouldn't want a big that was locked into the deep post on offense because of the fit with Pascal solely based on the fact that they can rebound? the best rebounder per 100 possessions (qualifiers) is Steven Adams,... and I wouldn't trade Myles for him?
Defensively,.. If I go look at DRB%, as opposed to sheer numbers,... He is at 19.4%, which puts him at 35th in the league. Yeah, I agree, he is a 7'1", better than average athlete, who should have better timing & anticipation on his rebounding. But, with the way the Pacers play I wouldn't expect 10-15 RPG,... I would expect 8 - 10 RPG numbers instead of the 6-8 we are seeing?
