https://sports.yahoo.com/nba/article/knicks-trade-ideas-giannis-kd-a-mavs-deal-3-moves-that-can-get-new-york-over-the-top-190720651.htmlInteresting that KAT (53.1mill) for KD (54.7mill.) doesn't even work straight up.
In contrast to what some are saying I do believe the Knicks have a shot at Giannis but they would have to likely be willing to give up OG in the deal as well. Like they send out KAT/OG to Milwaukee or KAT to some third team (Brooklyn?) and get back Giannis and another good role player.
I don't know how difficult it would be to make it work capwise but something along these lines:
KAT to Brooklyn
OG + Claxton + 4 NY unprotected picks to Milwaukee from Brooklyn
Giannis + Portis (or Kuzma) to NY
Brooklyn would essentially be giving up Claxton + 4 picks for KAT (who could stay in NY and is from Brooklyn)
Knicks would get Giannis + a solid/good role player for KAT/OG
Milwaukee would get two young, stud defenders + 4 unprotected picks
The question obviously would be whether Giannis would be worth giving up both OG and KAT.....I personally don't think Milwaukee would consider it if it was Bridges instead of OG but OG could actually make the offer competitive. Personally I am a big OG fan and don't want to give him up but for Giannis one has to ponder it.
