The problems being:
-I don't buy that the Rat will ever negotiate in good faith with us.
-He makes a weird salary that doesn't really line up with anyone, I think, we would want to trade. You could in theory do OG for Bam straight up but, that feels like a trade that benefits neither team unless there's some ancillary moves to be made off of it.
One interesting idea would be to do Bam and Highsmith for Mikal and Hart. This works salary-wise. I just wonder if the Knicks would think Bam is that much of an upgrade over Mikal that it's worth losing Hart over. And from the Heat's perspective they would upgrade their wings and open up some time for Ware to play real minutes next season while remaining competitive.
Either way I think Bam is probably one of, if not, the best big man compliment to KAT and Brunson in the league. He does a lot of the Hartenstein stuff that we sorely missed on offense this year. DHO's, elbow passing, good O-Rebounder. He's one of the best screeners in the league. He's both switchable and good at protecting the rim on D. He also finally started taking 3's this year. Took 3 a game at a 35.7% clip.
Prefer JJJ but here is what trading for Bam could look like.....
