The goal is the ring, not to just go thru the East

If this true what are the chances the Knicks go with a young coach like Jared Dudley. He worked with Brunson on the Mavs staff and the players love him. Former player too of course.
I would love for the Knicks to think out of the box a bit here, like the Grizzlies did with coach Iisalo. They had the balls to pick up a young euro coach with a superb coaching resume (but with no NBA coaching experience), and even to promote him to head coach position during his first year with Memphis. I expect him to do great things for that organization and one can just hope the Knicks would find their own Iisalo.

You didn't watch every game over the last few years like us die hard Knicks fans did. The guy can't adjust on the fly, has antiquated outdated plays, buried the bench the entire year, and role player types in the league have been saying they would never sign with NY because Thibs would never give them any burn. Even retired players on Podcasts are talking about how old school and outdated his coaching is. Any above average coach in this league could have got this squad to the ECF's this year. Thibs did absolutely nothing in that game 1 loss when the Knicks were up 15 with a few minutes to go and blew it. No timeouts, nothing.
Without Thibs , Knicks will be a play in team next season , book it
He made them overachieving big time
Without Thibs, we would have won game 1 and possibly won the series against your Pacers. It didn't happen but you should feel lucky that Thibs is so inept.

No no no , if BRUNSON had just a tad more brain than the chicken ( chicken runs and shiт at the same time ) , Brunson had to run 10 more seconds with the ball not throwing bad pass to OG you would’ve won game 1
But let’s blame on the Thibs , it’s just so convenient, especially after he was let go![]()
Your Point Guard lack the brain , not Thibs

But it's also super possible it gets colossally **** worse. Thankfully for Knicks fans, unlike the Bucks organization I don't think the current Knicks organization is ran by dudes who sniff paint.
The Knicks FO have been sniffing paint for majority of the past 2 decades.

Today's event is just another feather in their cap.

This doesn't even make any sense. Malone lost the locker room which was clear as day.
This is like saying Lakers should have kept Darvin Ham because he got the Lakers to a conference finals.
People also forget about the firing of David Blatt after he got them to 1 finals and look how that worked out for Cleveland.
One thing that is true about Thibs until proven otherwise, his players get rundown or his teams flame out in the playoffs.
Definitely risky for NYC but if they do their due diligence, there are definitely upgrades out there.
Lakers didn't fire him weeks before the playoffs though. Moving on is one thing, but the timing was off with that firing. No way you can convince me he was not run out. Jokic definitely signed off on it.
Folks, I really don’t think players have any say in FO decisions. Not even Jordan could keep Phil from getting the boot. This is a weird narrative that fans get behind that X player influenced Y coach getting canned

His offense has never been diverse.
You know what you're getting with Thibs, no point to waste another season.

The only silver lining is there are some good coaches available, but I don't think their personalities will be way different than Thibs'.
Its the circle of Thibodeau. He gets a mediocre team to overachieve. Fanbase and front office are convinced their mediocre players are really stars if they just had a more player friendly coach. Thibs gets fired. Team slides back to mediocrity or worse.
Fred Hoiberg is available. I wonder if the Knicks go that route.
It could be Hoiberg... or Phil after Collins. You've seen both sides of this.

Whatever bro. Enjoy your victory because OKC will end your season.

So what? He's has successful seasons. 'waste' another season? If 2 wins away from the nba finals was a waste, what result wouldn't be a waste?
People act like if he used his bench it automatically means they make it to the finals or win a championship. Using his bench more could in fact, change nothing at all.

Reports stated that Dwight Howard was involved in the firing process of Stan Van Gundy. Who was the source? Stan Van Gundy himself which he was told directly from management.
That was just one case. Do your research at least.
