Many reasons, some his fault, some not his
1. He was the centerpiece in arguably the most lopsided, illogical trade in NBA history
2. Piss poor attitude - forced his way out of NO to go to only LA, and is a diva about playing the 5 even though its best for the team
3. Always injured, I'm sure many times he could have fought through it and played, but didn't.
4. With Dallas being blessed with the #1 pick, the timeline should change now.
5. All the things above, not worth 54 mil a year
1 - Not his fault.
2 - Never been a diva about playing the 5. Has said numerous times he'll do whatever is best for the team. Has played Center for three years now. You blame him for wanting out of NO?
3 - Tell us, Doctor, what were the injuries he could have played through? And yet, over the last 3 seasons (22-25) he has played more games than Giannis, as many as Steph, and only 12 less than Luka.
4 - Why? Just use and bring Flagg along slowly like the Spurs did Kawhi. (Not as slow)
5 - The MLE, which is largely given to average players, is $15M... AD is worth 3x that. Unless maybe you're just stuck in 2019 NBA pay structures?
1. Already said not everything was his fault
2. And yet he still whines about it. Even complained LA needed to trade for a center, when dude is a center.
3. No he didnt play more games than Giannis or Steph. I guess we have to make up stuff since AD is soft and misses games for a runny nose
4. An option, but AD will stunt his growth more than help IMO. PJ is the better running mate plus the assets Dallas get back from AD
5. Lies again, its 12.8 mil. So okay, AD is 3x of that, that would be 38.4 mil. He makes 54, so yeah, overpaid
