KAT for Randle/Divo not a success...he was an all-star starter and all-nba,...what is Minny even going to get for Randle?
Knicks won one extra game. Gained a C who could shoot, lost offensive creativity at PF. The trade was a wash.
Don't want to derail this thread though.
No exec is going to be perfect Leon drafted Obi over Haliburton...
we are also a perennial +50 win team...everything in perspective of where we have been the last 20 or so years...
won one more game by basically losing there entire 48 minute center rotation (out of there control) for the entire season....gotta put some context behind it.

thibs kinda did himself in by being inflexible.
This is now another post season where he basically makes zero adjustments or changes during the regular season. Then when **** hits the fan he is forced/panics to make changes to the defense/rotations.
We still would have won a lot of games in the regular season but we could have experimented with different lineups. Not playing Deuce with the starters less Hart basically all year was the most damning...like he legit had a workable 5 out lineup and he basically never went to it. And deuce is our best POA defender...moves mikal and OG to robber spots...just mind numbing coaching if you ask me.

Giannis is the rare superstar who has the ability to do the dirty work but also put up 40 lol

I'm well aware of Thibs' limitations. Given his strengths, dropping him for same olde Knicks type **** is not acceptable to me.

DOT wrote:Going after Giannis doesn't make sense to me because we need to include KAT to make the deal make sense financially, but in terms of roster construction you'd want a KAT type C next to Giannis
Cause KAT offensively is like a supercharged BroLo
And then because if you're not trading KAT, you need to trade Mitch for salary purposes, ideally you could convince BroLo to take whatever we can give him to come over here and be a backup and hopefully he teaches KAT how to rim protect cause he wasn't really good at that until his 30s
But I stick by what I said, we don't need Giannis, we just need better coaching, more chemistry, and a few tweaks to the bench.
