They have been in asset collection mode for 2 years and have 3 bonus first rounds on top of all their picks, I don't think they tanked the season so that they could include that high pick in a trade while keeping all these future firsts.

The goal of trading for Bam would be to try to maximize the team right now which we need to draft at #4 in order to do that, but yeah for Miami of course they would want #4 because that would be the top asset anyone would consider offering for Bam.

I can support your rationale here.

Bank 4 for longterm sustainability knowing the talent/upside available in this draft, leverage those 3 outside 1st round picks instead for any big addition.

The (likely) Grizzlies 1st 2026 (18 this draft), Mavs top-2 protected 2027, Heat lotto protected 2027 (or unprotected 2028) would make a strong bid for a really damn good defensive stud.

One example - OG Anunoby. Is he even worth 3 first round picks?

OG + 4 > BAM + one of those outside 1st round picks.

No question.

Charlotte Outgoing: Jusuf Nurkic, Mark Williams, 2x FRP's (#4 Pick 2025 Draft, 2027 Miami Pick Returned)
Charlotte Incoming: Bam Adebayo

Miami Outgoing: Bam Adebayo
Miami Incoming: Miles Bridges, Mark Williams, 2x FRP's (2026 FRP Unprotected, 2027 Miami Pick Returned)

That's a strong offer for Bam, but has there been rumblings about Miami looking to trade him?

I haven't really seen anything but given the season they just had and what their roster looks like + lack of draft capital, it is a pivot I could see them making for basically the first time ever lol.

Bam is probably the closest players as Miami has to untradeable. IMO, Miami only moves him for Giannis or someone like that. I doubt Miami cares at all about getting its pick returned other than it can be used in a trade to get Durant or someone along those lines.

Miami would have to be in love with someone at #4 for this to even be considered, and even then Miami would have to believe Ware had franchise-player potential and could essentially step in and be Bam in the next 1-3 years. I don't think Miami thinks Ware has that sort of potential.

I don't see Mark Williams as being a much better option over what is likely available via free agency or trade, ie Myles Turner, Brook Lopez, Nic Claxton, Jarret Allen, Porzingis, Vucevic, Mitchell Robinson, Robert WIlliams...etc.
