This is the type of move that I think we need to figure out. I highly doubt it's Kevin Durant. But maybe his trade value has fallen to a point to where it could be? But then, can we win that bidding war?!
I hate to say it, but one of the few guys who I keep coming back to who could fit this category is Dillon Brooks. I think Bobby Portis could be an interesting target. Josh Hart is another. I think these three all represent something that this team seems to lack. A little bit of that Patrick Beverley/Jarred Vanderbilt edge, if you will.
I would put Derrick White in your group to help the Boston youngsters get to the Finals. He is by far my #1 target for our Timberwolves to get this off season. And fortuitously for us, Boston just might unload him with the Tatum injury. What would be the price for White?
A lot.
Dude is a fantastic 2-way player than can legit start at either guard position for a contender. Is still just 30 years old (for another month) and is on a very reasonable contract for the next 3-4 years.
Boston is going to do everything they can to keep him, but if he goes on the block, I don't think we have the right pieces to get him.
